Story
Everyone, meet Frank. This blue-eyed heart-breaker came out of a very abusive home, so is now looking for a foster or adopter to help show him love and patience as he figures out how to be a dog and the next (and best) chapter of his life. Likely because of his early upbringing, this 2 year old Bluetick/Walker Coonhound mix has a fear of men and loud noises, so would prefer a calm, structured home with his new dog mom. He loves cuddling, is figuring out what a dog should do with dog toys, and has recently discovered how much he loves bananas. He is crate trained and has done well learning some basic obedience. He needs some help with leash training and housetraining (he is improving every day). He’s done well with other dogs, but prefers calm dogs who will give him space when he needs it. Once he knows the dog he’s quite playful. He’s polite and respectful when greeting a dog and would like the same in return. He gets excited around cats, so may do best in a cat-free home. Story
Banyan is the sweetest boy. He is an incredibly high energy dog. He would do best with someone who has hound experience. He is incredibly intelligent and needs exercise and enrichment to keep him from being naughty. He is "crate trained," except when left for longer periods (5+ hrs) he will have an accident just outside of his crate. He is showing fantastic aptitude to be a hunting dog. He loves to cuddle and make himself at home wherever he is. He is highly curious, can be stubborn, and again highly energetic. He is still only a puppy; he's not even two years old. He can sit, lay down, and loves to go for runs with me.
