Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
About the dog: Basil is well socialized and had consistent and extensive training using positive reinforcement and clicker training growing up. He has great house manner, super smart, potty trained, crate trained, loves agility, walk on leash nicely and can be offleashed. He enjoys hiking, city walk or just hanging out on the couch. His problems: He was resource guarding around food since day one. We were able to train it out of him(toward people) when he's around 6 months old, but he still guards against other dogs. He's very affectionate, and very friendly to strangers, but only when he initiates it, and does not like being hugged. He's super nice and sweet 95% of the time, and gets comments such as 'well behaved, friendly & sweet' all the time on the street. Although rare, when stressed, he can show aggression without warning. He does have bite history, and has shown aggression to 2 people so far (no stitches needed).

He has great house manner, super smart, potty trained, crate trained, loves agility, walk on leash nicely and can be offleashed. He enjoys hiking, city walk or just hanging out on the couch. Good with small animals? yes Good with other dogs? Depends. He used to wanting to play with 99% of the dogs before 1.5yr, but gradually became dog selective. Now he’s still great with other dogs if they are just passing by, but it generally takes him some time(days to weeks or even months) to be familiar with the other dogs to be able to off leash together. Once he accepted the other dogs, he’s actually very forgiving and tolerant. Behavioral issue: Although very rare, Basil can show aggression when under stress or feeling conflicted. My health issues makes it really hard for us to have him, so wanted to rehome him to a more fitted home.

I am in a foster home and not at the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, submit an adoption questionnaire by email. Learn more hereMeet Prescott, a charming 1-year-old, 37-pound mixed breed dog who’s ready to find his forever home! Since arriving at his foster home, Prescott has made incredible progress. He’s gone from a scared, timid dog to a very lovable and friendly companion. He's so cuddly! And, he's fully potty trained! About Prescott: Friendly and Upbeat: Prescott loves to greet everyone on his walks with enthusiasm. He gets very excited when meeting other dogs and would thrive in a home with another dog or with someone who can give him ample playtime. Trainable and Treat Motivated: He has learned to sit on command and is working on stay. Prescott is very treat-motivated and eager to please, which will aid in his continued training. Gentle with Kids: He’s gentle with children and takes food softly. While he jumps when excited (mostly on adults), he’s a gentle jumper and is working on this behavior. Household Adjustments: Prescott has overcome initial fears of stairs and scaffolding and has become quite confident in his surroundings. He loves his stuffed toys and enjoys looking at himself in the mirror. He’s a fast runner who would do well with a backyard where he can run freely. A Few Things to Note: Prescott can be protective of his space and may bark when new people arrive. He might do better with an outside introduction before new people enter his home. He sleeps well and is content in his crate if he can see his humans, but he struggles when left alone and may whine or chew when left alone in the crate. Prescott’s foster family has enjoyed watching him come out of his shell and become the happy, loving dog he is today. He’s well on his way to being a fantastic companion for the right family! Story
Hello, my name is Frankie! I'm a 10-month-old, spayed Border Collie/Lab mix that currently weighs about 43lbs. I'm a high energy girl that loves to run and play! I'm still working on my impulse control and general manners so I'm hoping for a family that's prepared to continue my training. I prefer to live with older, dog savvy children because I get so excited to see my people that I forget my size. If you're looking for a happy-go-lucky adventure buddy, I could be the pup for you! Just ask Customer Service about Frankie! ID# A950091 Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.
