Story
REGGIE Roxy (all black) is a 2 year old female that was found with her last years’ puppy, Reggie (white face) 1 year old female, living under a car in a rural area. They were taken to the pound and it was there that they discovered Roxy was very pregnant. Unfortunately none of her babies survived and she has been spayed. These girls were scared to death at the shelter, so much that the shelter was ready to euthanize. We were alerted that they needed a rescue to get them out and we said “YES” and gave them their “get out of jail free” card. Both are now spayed and current on vaccinations. Just getting these ladies out of the shelter and into a home, they have completely made a full recovery. Roxy loves to run around and is more independent than sweet Reggie. Reggie stays pretty close to you wherever you go, happily wagging her tail. Both girls will come back when called and we are working on potty training. They are very smart so I have no doubt it won’t take long. They get along with all the other dogs at the rescue and all people. They are just sweet, happy, loving and mellow little gals.

A super handsome stock dog mix. Housebroken and great with other dogs. Rescued from a house fire and named by the firefighter. No owners came forward to reclaim him and he spent over a year at a rural shelter waiting to be adopted before we pulled him in to Rescue to do a better job promoting him and getting him a forever home

Story
Meet Leia! Leia came to the Mission from our friends at the Post Falls Animal Shelter. She was found as a stray with her presumed brother, Luke! Unfortunately, no owners came forward so they are both seeking their furever homes! Her estimated birthdate is 2/7/2023.  Luke and Leia can be adopted as a pair, or separately. They are currently being fostered in separate homes and are doing well, but if you were wanting a lovely pair of brother and sister goofballs, these could be your next pups!  Leia is the more timid of the two, and is nervous around new people. She warms up extremely quickly, and will accept treats. She is not fearful-aggressive, so she is unlikely to react with aggression in situations of fear. Instead, she tends to cower and lower herself to the ground in an attempt to make herself small. She will quickly approach new people for affection or treats when she's had an opportunity to sniff them out, and is getting more confident each day. Leia shines with other dogs - she absolutely loves to play, and is very gentile with her introductions. Once she knows the other dog, she may push their buttons in an attempt to engage in play, but she takes corrections well.  Leia is great in her kennel overnight or just for a nap/break, but does need to learn some manners on lead, as she currently pulls pretty hard. She is house trained.  Leia would enjoy an acitve home where she can run and play. Frequent walks, hikes, bike rides, frisbee, and things of that sort will be great activities to help wear her out physically. She'd enjoy mental stimulation as well, such as freeze treats or puzzles.  She is neutral to cats but if they run from her she will chase them. She currently lives with 3 cats and has never attempted harm, only play. Her gentle nature will make her a good match up for a home with children. When people think of adopting a great pet from the shelter, Leia is the kind of dog they're thinking of.  If you are interested in adopting Leia, the first step is to submit an application at www.murcismission.org! Her adoption fee is $200 and she comes spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and vaccinated. She will come home with her medical records, a temporary ID tag, and a leash/collar. Thanks for checking out our girl! ##2298749##

Story
Meet Luke!  This large breed gentleman came to Murci's Mission with his presumed sister Leia from our friends at the Post Falls Animal Shelter, when they could not locate their owners after finding the dogs as strays. Luke's estimated birthdate is 2/7/2023. Luke and Leia can be adopted as a pair, or separately. They are currently being fostered in separate homes and are doing well, but if you were wanting a lovely pair of brother and sister goofballs, these could be your next pups!  Luke is a gentle giant who just wants to give love and play with other dogs! He's a powerful guy with an immense amount of strength, so he will need a bit of brushing up on his leash manners, but he's already making great progress! He's an incredibly sweet dog who just wants a family of his own.  Luke would be great in a home with an active lifestyle and he enjoys being included, but hes also very good at hanging out in the yard and surveying the lands. He would enjoy long walks, hikes, and possibly more advanced sports once he has a bit more training under his paws. He is s fun dog and could likely be as active or relaxed as his family required on any given day.  He is great with other dogs, but it is unknown how he would repond to cats. Due to his gentle temperment, we believe he would do well in a home with children hearty enough to withstand a little bumping around.  Luke is mastering his potty training skills as he currently enjoys the occasional sprinkle of tinkle inside, however we are working on this behavior in is foster and he should resolve asap once he understands being inside a home. He is excellent in his crate.  Luke comes home vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and will have his medical records with a temporary ID tag/collar/leash. His adoption fee is $200. To be considered to adopt, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.  Thanks for checking out our guy!  ##2298748##

Story
ADOPTION PENDING! This dog is matched with a potential adopter and is not currently available. However, you’re welcome to apply! While the chances of being matched with this dog are low, your application helps us get to know you and find the perfect dog for your family. Follow your heart to The Babe! Meet The Babe! The Babe is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). The Babe is the mama of our Sandlot litter; she and her four puppies traveled from the Brazoria SPCA in Texas to the PNW area for a second chance at life after landing on the euthanasia list. Born in January of 2023, The Babe is a mixed breed (best guess is Border Collie and Pointer), medium size dog with black and white markings and sweet, friendly eyes.  She is a friendly, affectionate, loyal, playful, and brave girl looking to join your team. To quote Babe Ruth in the Sandlot, follow your heart and you’ll never go wrong. That’s how we feel about the adopter who chooses The Babe. This mama has a heart of gold and loves people and toys. Shortly after arriving at our intake, The Babe scoped out all the toys and quickly selected a few favorites! She adores playing Tug of War with the teens in her foster home; after a bout of playing, The Babe likes nothing more than to settle in for a good cuddle. While she prefers to snuggle with a person, she’ll burrow into a soft, comfy blanket if that is the only option. The Babe is a five-tool player! The Babe is potty trained; she sleeps through the night; she is fully crate trained; she has her basic obedience down (with a treat incentive); and she is learning how to walk on a leash. A social, curious and confident gal, The Babe has gotten along very well with all the new dogs she has encountered since her arrival (including the border collie in her foster home) as well as kids. The Babe was cat tested, and while she was respectful when the cat growled at her, she is excited around them and wants to play with them. This talented, darling girl is ready to be the star of your team! The Babe’s ideal home (team)? She would love to play for you with a no-trade clause. This delightful girl seeks a home where she can love and be loved in return. She is eager to please, and she wants nothing more than to earn your love and praise. The Babe would enjoy play time, walks with you, and lots of snuggle time. Dogs and kids would be great, too; the more, the merrier for The Babe. She would do well in a home with a dog savvy cat and a patient family willing to work on her excitement around cats. Everybody gets one chance to do something great, says Babe Ruth in the film. Maybe adopting our Babe is something great you can do! Want to meet The Babe? Fill out an inquiry or visit our website for more information! What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Begin by completing the online application. EVERY application receives an email response from us (check your spam folder!). Your personal Matchmaker will contact you, help you find your perfect pup match, and guide you through the process. Sign the adoption paperwork and adopt your new family member! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process. Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs a year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccinations (when age appropriate) and deworming and heartworm treatment/prevention. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course. Long Distance adopters (one hour or more from Spokane) may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option, Puppy Delivery Express, for an additional delivery donation of $250. Puppy Delivery Express currently delivers dogs throughout Washington and to parts of Montana, Idaho, and Oregon. About Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events. Score a home run with Yeah-Yeah! Meet Yeah-Yeah! Yeah-Yeah is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). Born in mid-November 2024, Yeah-Yeah is a black and white mixed-breed puppy (best guess is Border Collie and Pointer) with a charming white blaze on his face who we estimate will be a medium size dog when grown. Yeah-Yeah traveled with his mom and siblings (the Sandlot Litter) from the Brazoria SPCA in Texas to find a new home team in the PNW area. While he might not be able to field a ground ball, our Yeah-Yeah easily wins the World Series of cuteness. This charming puppy excels at snuggling (burrowing into your neck for a cuddle is a favorite pastime). Affectionate Yeah-Yeah adores being held and cuddled; he enjoys your company (and your warmth) and will shower you with kisses. He’s a very playful pup as well, with tug toys and chew toys among his preferred playthings.  Yeah-Yeah loves being with his people, and he plays well with the kids, cats and other dogs in his foster home. If you are looking for a team player to add to your home, check out Yeah-Yeah and his winning personality! Born December 2, 2024, Yeah-Yeah is quickly picking up skills. He will spend several hours at a time in his crate; he sleeps through the night; and he has progressed quickly through his potty training. He will begin leash and obedience skills shortly. Yeah-Yeah is ready for the big leagues. Yeah-Yeah’s ideal home? It might be yours! Yeah-Yeah seeks a home with people to love who will love him in return and ensure he learns the skills to make him a happy and well-balanced dog. Fun toys for playing and lots of snuggles make this guy’s all-star list. This free agent hopes to find a new home team to play for; step up to the plate and see if you can make Yeah-Yeah’s dreams come true. Want to meet Yeah-Yeah?
