Story
Twiggy comes to us from a rural Utah shelter where she was a stray and went unclaimed. Whoever owned her is missing out on a great dog. Twiggy is about 2 years old and about 36 pounds. We beileve she is a purebred, smooth coat border collie. Her coat is a deep red color. Twiggy is now crate trained and house trained. She rides well in the car and gets along well with other dogs. She's quite playful with puppies. She will make a great companion or a fun sports dog. Twiggy barks when it's appropriate, but is not a nuisance barker. She is friendly to new people. She is always looking to her foster mom for What's Next! We aren't sure how Twiggy is with cats. Twiggy's adoption fee is $350 and includes spay, vaccinations and microchip. If you are interested in possibly adopting Twiggy, please complete an adoption application located here: https://idawg.org/application.html

Story
Meet Trek, a male, 1-year-old Border Collie and Labrador Retriever Mix. He weighs 54 pounds.Trek arrived at the shelter as a stray. He had been roaming the streets on his own for quite a while (the exact time is unknown), until he was finally trapped and brought to safety! He is a bit unsure of everything, but he is friendly and eager to learn! With some time, patience, and love, we are sure that Trek will blossom into an incredible dog!Trek will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We do not know how he will do with cats.Trek is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered, and ready to go home today. The shelter is currently open by appointment only. Fill out an application to schedule an appointment today!

Story
Viva (vivacious) is an all-round delightful puppy: She is social and affectionate without being too needy; she is confident but not pushy; and she is generally calm and easy-going for her age yet loves to play and explore. She is intelligent and learns pretty fast though she prefers to step back and observe before throwing herself into a training session. She like to be near you or next to you on the couch when napping. Viva is used to other dogs of various sizes and ages and keep Unknown with cats but we imagine she will be fine. Viva would most likely make a great dog to take camping and would love to go hiking. She has a blast doing outdoor activities and enjoys getting dirty. 😄 She has done fine with children of all ages she has met and wanted to play with them. Close to housetrained and holds it in her crate all night. Obviously crate trained. She has a bit of a tendency to guard the space of her person against other dogs in a typical herding dog way. An experienced adopter is best. Born March 11, 2024. Age calculator (adjust today’s date:: https://www.calculator.net/age-calculator.html... We think Viva will be a medium-large dog when grown. Dad is a border collie or bc mix from ranch dogs and mom is a border collie mix of unknown origin. Dad has an outstanding temperament and is easy-going yet eager to do things with his people, great with other dogs, listens very well, wonderful off leash, social with new people without pestering them, very smart, and loves to learn new tricks and behaviors. His babies have probably inherited at least some of those tendencies though how you raise them has a big impact.
