Sadly, when I arrived at the shelter as a stray, the staff knew I was an adorable pup, but I never had any training. So I will need someone to help me learn the proper manners of a dog. The staff has resources available that they can share with you.Now to brag. I may have a lot to learn, but the staff has let me be the dog of the week! This means I got to spend time up in a suite by the front lobby, and when visitors stop in, they can come and great me and give me treats! Yummmmmmy! Not all dogs get this opportunity to be in the suite during the day. Howdy! I'm Carl. I'm border collie mix somewhere around 3 to 4 years old and I'm looking for a forever home! I'm currently being fostered by a dog trainer which means everyone gets to learn so much about me and I get to learn more before I move on to my forever! I currently know some basic obedience ( but I would say I'm a master in sit and shake), I'm crate and potty trained and currently learning how to walk well on a leash. It still needs some work but I'm a very smart boy and learn quick! I do good with other dogs and cats but do have some issues with resource guarding when it comes to dogs I don't know very well. I get better once I know the dog better. I will need a home without kids since sometimes I think they're something I need to herd and sometimes they just make me anxious! My foster says I'm a medium-high energy boy so I’ll need someone that can keep up and give me the outlets I need to stay a good boy.
