Story
We are looking for Perpetual Care Fosters for our little Princess. Perpetual Foster means she would be in the home, but Watermelon would take care of her medical needs. Due to her medical needs, a long-term foster is preferred. She was brought to back to our care after adoption and we found out that she previously sustained crush injuries to her hind area that resulted in surgery. While she still is an energetic dog, she needs a calm environment in which she can be monitored. Further medical care may be needed in the future. Princess`s Story:All Hail Princess! She loves cuddles and pets and loves to show her belly when she wants attention. This 22lb beauty does need someone who will work on behavior with her. She does like to jump and dig as she is a high energy Jack Russel Mix, so her new foster would need to make sure she is not making her injury worse. A requirement to foster Princess is that she needs to be in a home that has a fence no lower than 5ft and it must be wood or cinderblock as she can possibly climb a chain-link or iron fence. Due to her injuries, it would be best that she does not wonder around the back yard without a leash. The other option is that the foster lives in an apartment where she is leashed when she goes outside.Princess is dog selective so if you have another dog, a meet and greet is required before going to a new home!Princess is located at:Going to the Dogs & Cats Resale StoreCottonwood Mall10000 Coors Bypass NWUse the Main Entrance Between MOR & JC PenneyAlbuquerque, NM 87114Phone: (505) 867-5347Adoption hours at this location are 11am-4pm, Mon-Sat, and 12pm-4pm Sun(Please arrive by 3pm to have plenty of time to meet with our adoptable pets)

Story
February is a month highlighting "love" and Leo is truly a "love bug"! He loves getting attention, and will even give you a "love hug" to let you know how happy he is to be spending time with you! He is large, but easy to walk, and when the sunlight hits his beautiful black brindle fur, his highlights sparkle in the sun! He loves to chase balls, but hasn't figured out the second half of fetch (bringing the ball back to you!). Maybe you could be the person to refine this fetch game with him? I am sure there are lots of other things he would love to learn too! Come and meet this special guy! A team member adds, "big dog, doesn't pull , sits for treats and also very affectionate. He whines a little when encountering other dogs on the walk, but will go wherever you lead him. In the play area , He stayed beside me as if I was holding the leash. Very attentive dog !"

Story
This sweet boy is a delight to walk. He has good leash skills (but likes to take it slow so he can sniff everything!). He has a sleek body and long legs, so he might be a good candidate for jogging or going for some good hikes in the mountains! He takes treats gently and loves a good pet and lots of attention. Come meet this precious boy!
