Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Miss Bitty Estimated DOB is 1/18/25, making her just about 12 weeks old. Best guess, this little lady appears to be a Border Collie/Aussie/and-or Cattle Dog mix. We know and we agree, Bitty is the most adorable girl! But there's more to her. She is an active girl who is not afraid to show a little wild side and play but be that snuggle bug be affectionate when it's all over. Have that stockpile of toys, she can be a little hoarder. Tug of war is right at the top of her favorite list. She likes to play in the water. Currently it is the water bowl, but she may be eyeing the puppy pool and we think it's just a matter of time! Rain is no problem but baths not so much. Her people and big dogs rank pretty high with her. She wants to be where they are all doing what they are doing. Potty training and crate training are a work in progress.  Bitty up-to-date on age appropriate core vaccines, dewormed, current on flea/tick/heartworm preventative, and is microchipped!**As with any puppy, they will need families committed to begin and continue training in their new adoptive homes. And, as with all of our puppies, we recommend taking a basic group training class for exposure, a bonding experience with their new families, and of course continuing paths to becoming lovely, trained, well-behaved & well-adjusted adult canine citizens.**____________________________________________________________________ **If you are interested, YOU NEED TO APPLY.  Also, a follow-up email to info@safeatlast.net is strongly recommended. To pursue adoption, please register on www.safeatlast.net.  (Click Register on the left-hand side of our homepage.)  When you receive your password on your email account, please log back on to our website to complete the SAFE AT LAST on-line adoption application.  (Click Forms/Application on the left-hand side of our homepage and select the Adoption Application.) Once we have your completed application, if we feel you are a good match, we will contact you by email. (So, please check your SPAM.)  Our process is straightforward but involves a phone interview, reference checks and a home assessment.  An adoption fee of $450, and a refundable $35 spay/neuter deposit (required by NYS law), apply. YOU CANNOT MEET OUR RESCUE ANIMALS UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED TO ADOPT.  WE CANNOT CONSIDER YOU UNTIL YOU HAVE SUBMITTED THE FULLY FILLED OUT SAFE AT LAST ON-LINE ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Delay in submitting your application will put you behind other potentially suitable applicants.  Ultimately, approved adopters will be required to complete an adoption in Schoharie County. Thank you for your interest.(Sorry, we will not respond to generic 'check the box,' 'Is s/he available,' 'Can you give me more information' inquiries.) Meet Bodie, URGENT HELP NEEDED FOR THIS SWEET BOY DUMPED ALONE AND SCARED! SHELTER WILL KILL HIM! BODIE" is a loyal companion that truly embodies the phrase "man's best friend," cherishing the idea of being the sole dog in his human's life and home. He thrives on activity, enjoying long walks and snuggling up with his owner. Adopted from a shelter last year, he faced a difficult return due to concerns for the safety of the other dogs in his previous home. While he does experience barrier aggression and prefers not to have other dogs too close for too long, he is not aggressive by nature; he simply seeks his own space and will reciprocate that respect if given the chance. Story
Noelle is a 1-year-old, 68 lb Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix who’s ready to find her forever home! She is shy at first but Noelle has blossomed into an incredibly sweet, playful, and caring companion. She loves running around the backyard with her foster siblings, snuggling up to watch TV after a fun day of play, and collecting her “treasures” (toys and blankets) and arranging them in her kennel to sleep on. Noelle is kennel-trained and content to hang out in her crate, not food-reactive, though she definitely loves mealtime, friendly with other dogs and great with kids, cat-indifferent, and working hard on improving her leash skills. She’s medium-energy, blending playfulness with moments of calm. Her gentle, silly personality shines once she’s had a little time to warm up. Noelle would thrive with a family who can provide her with love, consistency, and maybe even a few snuggle buddies. She’s smart, eager to learn, and ready to bond with her forever family. If you’re looking for a loyal and goofy companion to brighten your days, Noelle might just be the perfect fit.

This sweet girl is incredibly affectionate and eager to please. If she were smaller, she’d be your lap dog for life! Holly loves being part of the action and will thrive in a home where she can stay close to her people. Holly would do best with an active family or individual who wants a devoted companion to share their life. Whether it’s daily walks, lounging on the couch, Holly is happiest when she's with you!

Story
Radar is being fostered in PA. He has some vision, possibly shadows. Radar is the sweetest snugglebug with an intrinsically calm demeanor. He loves to be with his humans at home and is always up for meeting new people and dogs in the neighborhood. He LOVES going on walks and being outside. He gets very excited when he finds out a walk is happening and jumps up and down! Playing with toys is a favorite activity, second only to laying on the couch with his humans, getting headrubs. He sleeps in bed with his foster family but is also very content being in his bed. Radar can see some shadows and light but is mostly blind. He has no trouble getting around or navigating stairs. Radar is a gentle and loving soul. He would make a joyful addition to any home. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
