Story
This beautiful girl is called Kenzie and she is a Border Collie mix  from what we can tell due to her size, temperament and the very silky soft fur that adorns her.  This girl is about 6 months old and weighs 32 pounds and is such a spunky and active girl that is happy, charming, and ready for any adventure that you want to ask her to join you in.  Her story is not uncommon in the south, but it definitely was one of  neglect.   Our girl Kenzie is a survivor and a brilliant puppy. Her persona is one of vibrance in life and resilience, topped with confidence.  She adores other dogs, young children and never meets an adult stranger.  She has beautiful eyes that are the color of blue in one and brown in the other.  Her charming personality is bold, happy and full of smiles and energy.  She embraces life with the full expectancy that she will give good love to others and good love will come back to her.And that is what we have promised her at Critter Cavalry Rescue. We will not settle for anything but the best. Our hope is that she will have a home filled with laughter and activities thar also include a home with a fenced yard, and long walks or jogs, along with excursions in the car that the best of great outdoor events. She brings great karma to all who meet her.   If you are interested in this housebroken, crate trained and undeniable beauty, then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. She is located in Nashville, TN and able to transport on a weekend to the northeast to a new family. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 1, 2025, 12:43 am

Story
This handsome 4.5 month old puppster is called Boy George and he is what you would call….a character.  A Border Collie mix puppy who is smart and mischievous and a leader in life.  He was born in a litter of 8 puppies around the middle of October and he was the biggest kid in the bunch. He is laidback yet very much an involved pup when it comes to creating dog events that are fun and inquisitive.  He is one that doesn’t back down because he knows that he can win the challenge with his tenacity.  Boy George has conquered all the obligations in his life to learn about housebreaking, crate time and how to walk on a leash with at least a B- rating.  Practice will make perfect when in a family that has more one on one time for him.  He is going to be a 55 pound boy once he is grown.  His Mom is Blue Eyed Kaye and she is a wonderful girl with a happy demeanor and has certainly passed it along to all her sweet offspring.  Boy George is a good pup but he is looking for an even smarter owner that will figure him out before he slips one in on you. He is loving and can be an attention grabber because when you are raised in a pack of 8 siblings, you kind of crave some private time for yourself.  Boy George will be a fun pup to raise and one that will excel at puppy training classes.  At 18 weeks of age and 32 pounds, he is a great size to take on car rides, walks on a trail or  your local neighborhood.  He will welcome new dogs and people to meet and did we mention that he LOVES CATS!   To our Boy George they are just another friend in life!   We will require a home with a securely fenced yard so that this boy can explore and hang out in the great outdoors/backyard.  He is not a digger and he is not a fence climber.  But he is a dog that requires the stimulation both physically and mentally every day.  Teach him things and he will make you a proud dog owner. Someone is looking for a dog like this.  Maybe an only dog in the home or just a great addition because he will be play buddies with anyone.  But always know that you must be the leader of your pack and Boy George.  He craves the boundaries and rules.  He thrives best not having his way and is so moldable.  If interested please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   Mention where you live, city and state.  Transport is available to the northeast outside of Tennessee where he is being fostered PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 8, 2025, 9:01 pm

Story
This handsome blue eyed Border Collie is called Hitch.  A devoted dog that loves to go for runs with his human (trained to run in front and answer to voice commands) and can run long distances too.  He is 6 years old but you would never know it.  He is the best dog ever.  Crate trained and housebroken and neutered with all updated shots and HW negative.  He is great with other dogs and most every cat he meets.  He is a dog that really doesn’t enjoy the company and activity of really young children.  They make him nervous. He loves to go for rides in the car with his person.  He is seeking a quiet home away from the busy road and all of the cars, buses, motorcycles, etc. that make him anxious. None of these vehicles bother him when he runs since he is “working.”  The best home for him would be an active family who lives out on land and he can run and play.  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested. Story
This handsome scruffy black and white darling boy is called Ross and we have determined that he is a Border Collie/Border Terrier mix that is estimated to be 5 months old and weighs 14 pounds and destined to be around 35 pounds as an adult.  This boy and his sister, Rachel, were abandoned in a small rural area of Tennessee at a cabin that was a parttime retreat for a family that lived 200 miles away.  Fortunately ,the cabin’s doorbell camera  caught these puppies being abandoned and alerted the property owner that these poor puppies were in trouble with no food or water anywhere around.  To make matters worse, impending frigid weather was on its way to their area.  The doors opened and rescue forces got to work quickly to go and pick up the puppies and carry them to a Critter Cavalry Rescue foster home.   This puppy and his sister are both smart and anxious to please.  Ross wants to be someone's special Valentine. He is crate trained and learning what it's like to be in a warm and loving home.  It's hard to imagine that only 2 weeks ago some cold-hearted person dumped him and his sister Rachel to possibly die from lack of care or food.  God was with them in finding immediate help and they have been worth every effort.  So sweet and loving and innocent.  Beautiful pups with wiry faces and sleek Terrier bodies that bring a smile when you meet them.  Ross is being neutered on Feb. 4th and will be ready for a forever home on Valentine’s Day.  We estimate that he will grow to be a 40 pound handsome boy that will bring so much fun, love and adventure to the person or persons who adopt him.  If you are wanting a wonderful rescue puppy to raise and love then please consider Ross.   Critter Cavalry Rescue transports from Nashville, Tn to the northeast and of course local Tennessee adoptions are welcome, too.  Please email asking for an application to ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 11, 2025, 9:22 pm

Story
Minnie – From Chained and Forgotten to Cherished and Hopeful 2-year-old Border Collie mix | 34 lbs | Gentle with dogs, cats, farm animals, and kind souls   For nearly two years, Minnie lived a life no dog should ever know—chained to a doghouse, forgotten in the yard, and left to survive on scraps and the kindness of two women who brought her food and water when no one else would. When she gave birth to a litter of puppies in the cold, those same women couldn’t stand by any longer. They asked the man of the house if they could take her and her babies—and just like that, Minnie’s life changed forever.   Safe at last, Minnie and her pups were brought to a warm farm where they could rest, heal, and simply be loved. Surrounded by chickens, cows, and horses, and visited daily by kind neighbors who stopped by for cuddles and praise, Minnie slowly began to understand what it meant to be free. To be wanted. To be seen.   All of her puppies were adopted—except for two. And while she waits for her forever home, Minnie is learning to let go of the fear and sadness she once knew. Now in foster care, she glides across the pasture with the graceful beauty of her Border Collie heritage. She may still be shy when first meeting new people, but it doesn’t take long for her soulful brown eyes to meet yours, quietly asking for a gentle pat or a soft word.   Minnie is kind. She’s easy with other dogs, respectful of cats, and calm around every animal she’s met. She’s thoughtful and observant, and with just a little patience and love, there’s no limit to what she could learn or become. Her intelligence runs deep—but so does her heart.   After all she’s endured, Minnie deserves more than just a home—she deserves a life filled with peace, understanding, and joy. A soft bed. A gentle hand. A forever family that will see her not for the pain she’s endured, but for the love and light still shining inside her.   If you believe in second chances and quiet miracles, Minnie is waiting for you. Please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com to learn more or apply to adopt this incredible girl.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 15, 2025, 3:29 pm

Story
Ginger is a 2 year old Australian Shepherd mix who weighs 40 pounds. Beautiful Ginger is the Miss America of the Charleston Dog Shelter. She is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside. Ginger is fantastic with other dogs but we aren’t sure about cats. Her disposition is so sweet and docile that we can’t imagine her being a threat to cats though. Ginger loves people of all ages and doesn’t meet a stranger she doesn’t like. Her energy level is relatively moderate and she plays and socializes very well with other pups. Ginger truly is a wonderful dog! Ginger is spayed, fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped.
