She is a GORGEOUS Border Collie/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix or Tri-Colored Rhodesian Ridgeback. Her personality is true to her breed! Xena's foster mom and dad have 3 other dogs that she likes to play with and share toys with, but she has also learned to be by herself. Her foster mom says she needs an active family with another dog or multiple dogs. Xena needs room to run to get her energy out. She likes going for long walks and exploring the wilderness. Xena sleeps with her foster mom and dad in bed with all the other dogs. It gets a bit crowded but she does love sleeping with the pack. This makes her feel safe. Xena does not like to be in a kennel or crate. So, a family that is at home would be ideal.She likes eating ice cubes! Xena says 'When mom gives me fresh water in a bowl she puts in extra ice cubes for me. That makes me feel special and loved.' Xena loves riding in a vehicle and knows not to jump around and act like a baby.She can walk on a leash pretty well as long as she has her harness on; Xena is not a fan of collars. She also knows a few commands like “stay”, “no” and “potty”.Xena will bark at strangers until she gets to know them. Her foster dad has taught her to fetch. She loves chasing the ball and bringing it back, it’s the letting it go part that she has a hard time with BECAUSE she also loves to play tug of war. Xena is also a fan of the Laser Light. She thinks they are fascinating!Xena is Special Needs because if and when she gets too excited she has seizures. The vet attributes this to a blow to the head as a puppy. Meet Pepper! She was originally adopted at League City Animal Shelter by my daughter's friend who quickly learned she could not keep her. We took her in, and have gotten all her vaccines and have loved on her for the last few months. We are hoping to find her forever home since we already have 5 other dogs. She is about 9 months old and 25 lbs. embark dna says she is a good mix of Pitbull, bulldog, German shepherd, and border collie. She has been spayed. She LOVES to play fetch and would play for as long as you’d let her. When she sleeps, she likes to sleep on you or under the covers/blanket. She gives lots of kisses and can jump super high!! She would thrive in an only dog home because she craves human attention, but she does get along well with all our dogs. She also loves little kids (they share the same energy) but hasn’t been around cats.
