Story
This handsome man is Oreo, yes like the cookie! He is around 3 years old and is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He did good in the home with the older kids so we think ages 12 and up would be the best fit. We would want all the kiddos to come to the meet and greet. He is a Border Collie mix and has the energy to match. He will do best in an active family that will take him on lots of adventures and give him time run run run! He has previously lived with dogs that are smaller than him and did good with them. A dog test will be required with any pups you currently have. He has never lived with cats before and chases the outside cats when he gets the chance. We feel it may be best to place him in a home with no cats. He is housetrained and crate trained. He likes to swim. ride in the car and is ok being brushed and taking a bath. He knows some basic commands such as sit and stay but would benefit from some leash training as he pulls just a bit. Story
Oh, such a beautiful litter of Border Collie Mixes! At three months old they weigh 10-12 pounds, and all four will grow to about 45 pounds. They're a happy bunch, each one of them playful and inquisitive, each one loving. (posted 1/29/25, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **February 5, 2025, 5:44 pm

Story
2- 3 year old Louie came to us with a history of being a "bait dog" for dog fighters. That may or may not be true as Louie does seem to have some neurological issues which could have been caused by injury (head bobbing when drinking, and some peripheral vision issues). We have had Louie thoroughly checked out by our veterinarian, and he has assured us that though Louie does seem to have some strange issues, none of them appear to be affecting his current health in any way nor does he expect them to affect him in the future. Louie really doesn't care for the company of other dogs - he would much rather be an "only furchild". He is very well behaved on leash. He can be affectionate with his humans once he gets to know them, but can be a bite risk to those he does not know or trust. Louie needs someone with a LOT of patience and knowledge of dog behaviors to adopt him and show him just how good a dog's life can be, therefore, Louie would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner/trainer, and absolutely no children. Louie is a work in process - and his new family should regard him as a piece of art that when finally complete will dazzle all who meet him. If you would like to offer Louie a forever home, please submit an application which you can find on our website (www.almostheaven-golden-retriever-rescue.org)

Story
https://foha.org/pet/nelson2021/ Nelson here! My new adoptive family will need to be ready to provide a lot of training which my friends at FOHA will help to coordinate at time of adoption. I can be unpredictable so I am looking for a family with no kids 15 and under. Look deep into my different colored eyes - then get me a ball! I LOVE to play fetch! The second I see a ball or hear you say the word, I'm ready to play. I know how to fetch and I'll bring the ball right back to you and drop it at your feet. I also love water and getting sprayed with a hose! I've been lucky to join doggy social here at FOHA and I have enjoyed playing with other dogs. I love going for walks as I get to know the volunteers and they get to know me. As much as I like new dogs I am not comfortable around a lot of new people. So I would not do well in a dog park or doggie daycare. I'll go ahead and say it, I'm extremely smart. I'm looking for an active family that will put my intelligence to good use. I would love to have a huge fenced in backyard to chase my ball until my heart is content. Apartments and condos will not be a good fit for me. If you would like to come meet me, submit an application and we can set up a time to get to know each other. See you soon!! I am looking for a home with no kids, no cats, house with a large backyard, and an experienced owner willing to work on training. Story
https://foha.org/pet/pelican2022/ Hey there, I'm Pelican, and while I may be a dog, my dreams take flight! I'm a spirited and cheerful fellow, always ready for some fun and games. Among all the activities, soccer is my absolute favorite, and I can't resist a thrilling match with my volunteer friends at FOHA. I've had a taste of home life before, where I shared the space with another dog. Things started off well, but I quickly realized that I might be at my best as the only four-legged companion in the house. If you're looking for an only-dog scenario, count me in! I'm a people-loving pup and have the boundless energy that's typical of a border collie mix. Bonus: I'm super soft to the touch, making cuddle time even better. If you're considering bringing me into your life, I have a special request. I'd thrive in a home with a very experienced owner who's up for working with me on a few behavioral challenges. I'd also do best in a home without children. I'm eager to shower you with love and am more than willing to learn and grow. So, what do you say? Will you be the one to come and meet me and embark on this incredible journey together? I'm waiting to spread my wings and soar with you!

Story
Daisy is an excellent dog. She is a 5 year old Border Collie (Wisdom Panel DNA confirmed). We adopted her from a rescue in December 2024. Back story: she was used for frequent breeding and lived outside in a pen with her puppies. She was around other dogs and young children. Daisy is a very sweet natured dog. She has adapted well to living in a home. She is a quick learner and wants to please her people. She is potty trained and will alert you when she needs to go outside. She loves to chase and would play ball all day! Daisy walks on a leash and enjoys long walks. She knows basic commands and is quick to respond. (Sit, Come, Off, Down, Leave it) We need to rehome her to a place without livestock (or with appropriate livestock like cows or sheep). We were told she was not interested in chickens and goats; this is not true for us. Daisy is a sweet and happy dog. She needs a secure home with lots of love and a place to run and chase balls!

These pups are in Front Royal, Virginia too!

Story
Laynee is a pint sized little lady who is looking for her furever family! She can be nervous of new people at first but with some time and patience she warms up and is SO loving. She would do best in a quiet home that doesn't have a lot of visitors as most cattle dogs can be weary of strangers especially unannounced ones their property. She would be most comfortable with older children who respect and understand a dog's boundaries. She enjoys swimming in the river and being loved by her people. She LOVES to ride in the car and would make a great adventurous hiking partner!! Laynee LOVES to chase balls and is full of energy so don't let that white face fool you she is only 4 years old! She is crate trained and house trained but could use a little work walking on leash. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccines. Interested in adopting?
