Story
Meet Freya... Freya is about as special as a rescue pup comes. Ace of Hearts rescued her from death row after she waited for a week in the shelter with dislocated hip and 2 broken hind legs. She was in immense pain and dealing with her family dumping her but not once did that make her anything but the sweet, sweet dog we know today. Her gentle nature will have you falling head over heels in love. When she is all better, we know she will make an incredible bubbly companion for any human that has the heart to scoop her up and give her what she has never known. Are you Freya's next best friend? She would love to meet you!

Story
This precious puppy is our little Beau! He is an approximately 10 week old, 9lb, Terrier mix (Border and Parson Russell possibly) that is the cutest puppy ever! Beau came to us when one of our team members was on the NextDoor app and saw that a man had just posted "free puppy being given away." We know the danger of giving a dog away, especially for free so we contacted the owner and met up with him to take the puppy! Little Beau was so scared and didn't know what was going on. The owner told us he bought him from a friend who's dog had a little of puppies, but after a week of owning Beau, the owner felt that a puppy was just a bit too much for him. It's ok because he is in one of our amazing foster homes and is getting so much love, care, and socialization with other dogs. Beau is such a happy, playful, and loving little guy! We definitely want him in a home with another playful pup and a home with safe and secure yard for him to run around in. Owners that are not gone long hours during the day would be ideal! Beau is one special little boy who deserves the best forever home out there! Beau is vaccinated, microchipped, and will be neutered at the appropriate age. We only adopt in the Greater LA areas as an in person meet/greet, home check, and trial period are required. Please contact us at gina@theforgottendog.org or 310-990-2020 Beau's adoption fee is $600.

Story
Benji was adopted from an animal rescue shelter in West Hollywood in 2021. He is 4 years old turning 5 on 12/1. He is considered to be a high anxiety dog. He is loving once he gets to know someone. He doesn’t like big dogs and gets very loud when strangers approach or walk by. He does shed alot of hair. But overall, Benji is a good boy. I would say he definitely can use some training. I believe he is high anxiety due to being found on the street as a pup.

Story
Hi, I'm Zeke! I'm a friendly, gentle Terrier with a loving soul who is content to sit on your lap and with my favorite purple toy in my mouth. I like to play, but not too rough and I love my foster Mom and our other dogs at home. I'm a bit shy at first, but once I get to know you, I will Love you to the Moon. I have a brave heart, but I also love a good cuddle. I've got a mellow side too, so don't worry about me being too hyper. I'm a funny fellow, always ready to make you smile. I'm looking for a forever home where I can be loved for who I am. I promise to bring joy, laughter, and loyalty to your life. Adopt me and let's make beautiful memories together! EMAIL ALPHADOGPETRESCUE@YAHOO.COM and ask for our application. Zeke is fully vetted neutered microchipped.. $375 to adopt.

Border Terrier fun facts

Fun Facts:

Hill foxes could easily destroy farm stock, so farmers and shepherds needed a powerful dog with legs long enough to follow a horse but short enough to follow foxes underground. The Border Terrier was their scrappy answer to their fox predator woes.

The Border Terrier is the only terrier that has a loose and moveable hide, or skin, which was to protect the dogs during foxhunting and allow him to wiggle in and out of tight tunnels.

The Border Terrier is often regarded as one of the oldest breeds of terrier in Britain.
