Story
Hello, My name is Emil (Emilio) and here is some information about me:Breed: Boston Terrier MixAge: 3 years oldGender: Male, neutered Weight: 19 lbsHeight: TBDHighlights: Shy, happy, loving, dog friendly Hey there, folks! I'm just a little pup with a big ol' tale to tell. See, not long ago, I found myself in a real sad situation after my owner turned me into an awful "high kill" shelter due to financial reasons. I was scared beyond belief in this big, noisy shelter wanting more than anything for my human to come and take me home.  But then, just when things were looking pretty ruff, my luck changed! This amazing team of humans swooped in and rescued me from that scary place. They said I deserved a chance at a happy life, and boy, am I grateful for that! Now, I'm livin' the dream with my foster family. They're teaching me all about what it means to be part of a loving pack. There's comfy beds, yummy treats, and lots of playtime in the sunshine. I'm learning so much every day, like how to trust humans, play, explore on a leash and give the best doggie kisses! Life sure is sweet now, thanks to my incredible fosters. They're all about teachin' me the ropes, like how to sit and stay (still workin' on that one). I am learning what a normal, happy dog life is all about, and I couldn't be happier. So here's to second chances, belly rubs, and forever homes. Woof woof! Energy Level:  Moderate I get along with: Dogs: Yes Cats: Unknown Kids: Yes (no videos) Fears/Prey Drive: I'm a little shy. Please be patient during my transition. Training:  Please be prepared to work on my training. Leash Skills: Some. Please be prepared to continue with my training. House trained: Yes. Please assist training me where to go in my new home. Health Notes: I am healthy, microchipped and vaccinated. My adoption fee is $850 CAD plus applicable taxes Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2094203##
