Story
Hi, this is Sebastian he is a full breed boxer and he is 2 years old. He’s very social and loves attention and hugs. He has grown up around his 2 other brothers from same litter but unfortunately due to moving I cannot keep him. He’s very friendly and loves to run and play catch. He loves making friends at the dog park. He has a great personality and we are so sad to have to see him go. He need’s special attention to his diet because he’s allergic to chicken and eats a salmon & rice blend dog food. Also he has sensitive skin due to these food allergies. He’s the smallest out of all his brothers I’d say he weighs low 60’s lbs! He is microchipped and he is fixed. With up to date shots!

Story
If you love Boxer types, Ivy is the girl for you! Ivy is sweet, silly and affectionate and estimated to be about 2 1/2 years-old. She has mastered her obedience basics and she’s crate trained. She walks nicely on a leash and would love a family with kids 14+ that likes to go on walks or hikes! Ivy is on a special low fat diet and we recommend that adopters keep her on it upon adoption.  Ivy is a medium energy dog- she enjoys playing with other dogs and her people friends, but then she’s happy to relax and sunbathe in the yard. Her Boxer zoomies will make you laugh. ##1806585##

Story
Meet Joe the boxer! Joe entered Baldwin Park Shelter as a stray. When he wasn't claimed, we scooped him up on December 16th to become a Frosted Face. Joe is 8 years old and weighs 52 lbs. He is a sweet boy who enjoys attention from our volunteers and staff. Joe loves going on our weekly FFF hikes, and volunteers report he walks nicely on leash and is a fun companion on the trails. He easily walks 2-3 miles and has great manners and no reaction or barking when he encounters other dogs and horses! Joe went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn what he is like in a home. His Fling Family reported that Joe... - Was very affectionate and loving - Would get excited to see them when they returned home - Loved going on walks around their neighborhood - Loved being petted and cuddled - Had a great appetite Joe went on a second Fling and again showed what a good boy he is! He went to the beach and to the office with his Fling Mom. He was very quiet during a meeting and laid her co-worker's feet! As you can see in the video, when Joe was at home, he had lots of fun playing with his toy! As much as Joe loves people, he is not well socialized with dogs and is eligible for our Molly & Me Project paid foster program. The Molly & Me Project is for senior dogs left behind by their owners that are poorly socialized with other animals, but they are incredibly loyal companions to humans and likely have been for many years. M&MP dogs are difficult to place and often find themselves in long term isolated kennel boarding or facing euthanasia. The Molly & Me Project was implemented to recruit people that have no other animals who can carry out our mission of family to love dogs like Molly who need to be an only pet long term. Requirements: - No other animals of any kind in the household - Submit weekly photos - Live an enriching life and include the Frosted Face - Demonstrate ability to avoid scenarios of negligence that would put the Frosted Face or other animals at risk Incentives - $200.00/month for a term of 12 months - We pay for veterinary expenses - Receive donated food and supplies If you are looking for a wonderful buddy, and you don't have other pets in your home, please consider fostering or adopting Joe!

Story
Meet Maki! Starting back in 2019, Maki was impounded on multiple occasions, each time after being found running at large. Thankfully, she was rescued alive each time. During her most recent stint at the San Diego Humane Society, they reached out to us for Maki's positive outcome as they were concerned about her quality of life. Knowing that our dogs get lots of play yard time, walks, and are only adopted to families who agree to provide yard supervision, Maki became a Frosted Face on April 8th. She is 11 years old and weighs 44 lbs. Soon after Maki arrived, she went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn what she is like in a home. Her Fling Mom reports: "Maki is a great dog! She loves to be wherever her family is. She also loves riding in the car being comfy on dog beds and couches with blankets. Maki is very good while getting a bath and did not show any separation anxiety when left home alone with my dog. Maki walked 45-60 minutes every morning at a brisk pace. She had no problems keeping up with me and my Whippet. We also went on a slower-paced 10-15 minute walk through the neighborhood in the afternoon. Maki was content to nap most of the rest of the day. Maki was completely non-reactive to every dog we passed on the trails and sidewalks in the neighborhood. For the most part, Maki got along well with my Whippet. On two occasions, when my daughter was showing excessive attention to my dog, Maki became jealous and barked at my dog. Maki enjoyed meeting new people and accepted pets. She loves hugs and cuddling. Maki played with toys for the first time at the end of our Fling, and she learned to ring the potty bells when she needs to go out!" Maki is good with cats, too! Maki is back on-site and ready for her forever home. Might it be with you?

Story
Astro will match your energy. He likes to run around and play and also likes to take a good old fashioned nap in the sun. I've socialized Astro since he was a puppy. He regularly goes to the dog park. True to his breed he is defensive around his owner, but he is also playful once he feels comfortable around the other dogs. At the dog park, if he observes other dogs getting into arguments, then he will jump in and break them up. He is a very curious dog. He wants to be in the center of what is happening and sees the world through his nose. He is content to just sit at your feet while you work and be with you. Astro is both crate and house trained. On cold days he will let us know he needs to go. On warm days we tend to leave the door open a little and he lets Astro knows how to sit, stay, lay down. After his daily walk he knows to sit before we will take off his harness. He also knows how to fetch. We engaged with a professional trainer to help us get him settled.
