Story
Sweet Dusty! This ham is waiting for his new home. Dusty is an 89lb Boxer mix who really does show strong Boxer features, but acts nothing like a Boxer! He is playful at times, but often is just a couch potato and a great work from home buddy. Dusty lives with 2 young, rowdy 50lb dogs (male & female) who live for playing along with a female cat. He gets along perfectly with everyone. Dusty is easy peasy and can fit in anywhere. He's been to our adoption events and been fine with all people, kids, large dogs, small dogs, puppies - you name it. He's a great dog. Sadly, he spent the first 6 years of his life in a "rescue" that was just a facility with kennels and no access to the outside world. He was born there and stayed there until December when he was freed and came to us. He had an undiagnosed thyroid issue and was being overfed, so he went from about 65lbs to 114lbs at that facility. He came to us, got on a cheap thyroid med (about $20 for 6 weeks of it), quality food and started running around the backyard and he is now 89lbs and feeling like he's got his bikini body! Dusty is a very awesome boy and can fit into any household. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $250 and he is in Tampa. Adoption Application: www.love4pawsfl.org/adoption-process If you would like to adopt our sweet big boy, please complete an application. His adoption fee is $250. https://www.love4pawsfl.org/adoption-process

Story
Stormy This sweet Boxer mix is such a jolly guy. He could fit in nearly anywhere. He is great with all size dogs from 10lbs to 100lbs and would likely be fine with a cat. Stormy loves to be with you, lay next to you while you're working or just be in the same room as you. He's so sweet and so deserving of his forever home. Stormy came from North Florida where he was born in a "rescue facility" (along with his brothers Sonny & Dusty in L4P too) and forced to grow up there. He is surprisingly well socialized for not having seen the world. He's happy, personable and makes friends easy. He doesn't require much, but his ideal home would have someone home more often than not. He likes companionship and to relax at home, but could also learn new things with his person. He would most likely enjoy an easy going dog, but could be your only dog as well. Stormy is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. He is 6 years old (born January 2018), about 70-80lbs and currently in the Tampa area (spring hill). His adoption fee is $250. Adoption Application: www.love4pawsfl.org/adoption-process

Story
Allman is the definition of a Boxer, from his looks to his personality traits! This 7-year-old boy is always looking for opportunity to play, and loves making everything a game. He is a great ball player and may not always bring it back, but his enthusiasm keeps the game going. He enjoys carrying toys around wherever he goes, squeaky toys are super fun, but Kong toys are also wonderful. He also has a prankster side with shoes and likes to untie your laces when you are walking. He is loyal to his friends here at Satchel's but can be a bit picky. He takes a little time to get to know people and, although he is high energy, he prefers a calm first-time meeting. Allman has a Woof Pack leader here at Satchel's and they are working on his acceptance of new people. Once accepted, Allman is a loving, playful, intelligent boy who can't wait to be with you. He walks very well on a leash and loves going on adventures. He knows his basic commands and with treats, he can do them with a swiftness. Allman would be the perfect canine companion for someone who loves being active or has a love for and understanding of the Boxer breed. He would do well with a fenced in yard, or multiple walks to get some of the energy down. For an appointment to meet Allman, please submit the adoption application (no-commitment) found on our website, www.satchelslastresort.org, and an adoption counselor will be in touch.

Story
Looking like a hairless wonder, is our boy Brodie. While his looks may not do him justice, this little guy has a heart of gold. Coming from a pretty poor background, it has taken some time to get this pup used to being just that, a dog again. He was terrified of water, avoiding anything other than his water bowl. His skin was in desperate need of healing, and medicated baths were a top priority. With the help of staff and volunteers, his skin is looking so much better, even if his hair has not come back. He was also not very social, and did not understand what we were doing in just an attempt to pet him. He is now showing affection with those he trusts, looking forward to those butt scratches and head pets that he feared in the beginning. He absolutely loves food, which is helpful in his training. He is muzzle trained, after working hard with a staff member, which has made certain things easier for both Brodie and those helping. He has been in playgroup and has made quite a few canine companions. We would love to continue watching Brodie progress and be a confident, caring, loving dog that we all know he is. If you are interested in helping us make this dream come true, and have a place in your heart for a truly special dog, please submit an adoption application (no commitment) at Satchelslastresort.org.

Hi-My name is Amber and I am a Diamond Dog. Please ask about the special perks that come with my adoption.I LOVE: to cuddle more than toys and treats. If you rub my belly, I will thank you with a kiss.I KNOW: I'm an excellent walker and will sit politely for a treat. I also know the difference between play time and quiet time. IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR: a loyal sidekick, I'm the one for you. Let's go on an adventure.I AM SPECIAL BECAUSE: I have a unique look. That's not gray hair on my face, it's white which highlights my big, brown eyes.
