Story
Meet Bella, the charming and spirited pup who's sure to steal your heart! With her love for playtime, especially with well-balanced rescue dogs, Bella would happily spend all day frolicking in the yard. This smart girl isn't shy about expressing herself, and while it took her a bit to warm up to us, we know she'll do the same with her new family. Once Bella recognizes you as a friend, she'll shower you with affection like no other. Crate time is a breeze for Bella, though doggy beds don't stand a chance with her playful nature—they quickly become toys to shred! Highly motivated by treats, Bella responds well to training and is quite adept on a leash, although she can get easily distracted. A gentle leader might be the perfect tool to help her focus. Bella prefers the comfort of her own home and will need some encouragement to fully appreciate the joys of a walk. She tends to get anxious around other dogs during these outings, often voicing her excitement a bit too loudly. Remember, no rescue animal is perfect, but Bella's incredible qualities far outweigh her quirks. She's eager and ready to find her forever home with a family who understands and loves her just the way she is. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future from a city that has an animal crisis.  We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets.  So many have been dumped and cannot find their way home.  Many never even had a home and were born on the streets.  WE gave them a chance.  Every animal deserves a chance. We know if adopted by you they will be loved and cared for. We believe in our local and out of state applicants.  There is a reason we drive to the Pacific Northwest & East Coast every 2 weeks.  You are worth the drive. We have AMAZING adopters, and we need more like them.  No matter if you live here in Houston, the Pacific Northwest, the East Coast or Canada we welcome you!  Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping.  If we are in Houston, then how can you see our posts?   Spring Branch Rescue has fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Yes, our rescue is in Houston.  Our available animals live with foster families.  This is a win for you as the transition from our home to yours will be a much easier one.  We do have foster homes in your area.  This is why you can see our posts.  Unfortunately Meet & Greets has been cancelled due to Covid Restrictions.  Almost all our animal travel has been adopted.  We have been doing this since 2019 and have been very successful.  Please look at our adopter’s reviews https://greatnonprofits.org/org/spring-branch-rescue ##2149754##

Story
MEET JOEY! Joey is a 7-month-old purebred Boxer puppy rescued from a California shelter. He came out of the shelter with stitches on his muzzle and body as he had likely been attacked by another dog. But Joey is doing great now! He's still underweight and we're working on that but beyond that he's a wonderful puppy. He will be neutered once he's at a healthier weight. Joey would do great with an active person or people. He currently needs a foster or forever home. Please email for an application.

Story
HI - I'M CHARM! I'm a darling 9-month-old medium-sized Boxer mix (possibly part Lab) in need of a foster or forever home! I was rescued from an overcrowded California shelters, and originally came from a hoarding case. I'm a bit shy at first but overall I love being around people and other dogs. I'm quite small - between 30-40 lbs - and would make a great dog for an active single person, couple or family with older kids. Please email for an application.

Story
This is Tina. She is 1yr 8 mos. She is mixed. We think German shepherd. She is pretty timid. Seems like everything is new to her. She is good with dogs. She has a little big of resource guarding. She never attacks just growls. Only to dogs not humans. This is something we believes will be remedied by stability & knowing she will be fed regularly. She is mostly submissive & occasionally dominate which is believed to be fear based. She has the personality & temperament to be molded into what an adopter would want.

Story
Introducing Jackson, or as we like to call him, Jack Teller - a true survivor who has overcome countless obstacles in his journey. Imagine finding him at an intersection, abandoned and scared, anxiously waiting for his owners to return. It breaks your heart, doesn't it? But don't worry, this story has a happy ending. Despite his rough start, Jack Teller has blossomed into a remarkable companion. Like any dog, he was initially wary of new faces, but it didn't take long for him to realize that there are kind-hearted souls out there who only want to shower him with love and affection. And boy, did he surprise us all! Jack Teller turned out to be the friendliest pup around, melting hearts left and right with his warm greetings and wagging tail. He's not just good with people, but dogs too - a true social butterfly! Like many of our Tx dogs he is being treated for heartworms. NOTHING to worry about as this is very common here.  We will provide the medication to continue his treatment.   If you're looking for a hiking buddy or simply a furry friend to join you on leisurely strolls, Jack Teller is your guy. He absolutely loves going on walks and exploring the great outdoors. Plus, he's a pro when it comes to crate training. Talk about an all-around good boy! But here's the best part - this gentle soul is a hidden treasure, waiting to be discovered by the perfect forever family. We believe that every dog deserves a loving home, and Jack Teller is no exception. That's why we make regular trips to the Pacific Northwest, including a special stop in Bellingham, WA, just for our Canadian friends. If you're interested in adopting Jack Teller or want to find out more about him, head over to www.springbranchrescue.org. Don't miss out on the chance to welcome this incredible pup into your life. Trust us, it'll be a decision you won't regret. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Story
Tiny and Marlie are very gentle and good-natured dogs that we would love to see adopted together if possible. Both are cuddlers although Marlie prefers to lay on top of you rather than to the side. They are both such sweethearts and love people. They're good with kids. With new people and situations, however, Marlie is a little timid at first. These youngsters are super playful and love toys, treats, and bones. Tiny lives to play tug-of-war or keep-away and his favorite toys are ropes. Marlie is content with a chew and a shade tree. They are both treat-motivated. Once, their temporary foster mom took them to a park where there were other dogs and while Marlie was a bit standoffish, she didn't act like she minded the other animals. In the temporary foster home they did not get along with the senior Pitty but were okay with the other dogs. It is hard to say if they will do best with just the two of them or be fine with another friendly, confident dog of middle age. Marlie walks with a hunch in her back like maybe she sustained an injury at some point that wasn’t treated. The landlord at the apartment where they came from said there was a time when she didn't get around much and seemed like she hurt her "rear leg or something". Tiny stayed at her side the entire time. These two are a bonded pair, not siblings, but they love each other dearly. From what we were told, their prior owner tried to separate them at one point and they both did poorly. They are very attached to each other. That being said, the situation was already less than ideal, and they probably needed each other to cope. They can go to separate fosters if needed, but after the trauma and abandonment they have endured, we would love to keep them together. They absolutely love car rides and behave wonderfully. They have great leash manners. They get along with the cats in their home. Both are estimated to be about one year old at the beginning of July, 2024. They are in our satellite foster group in the Salt Lake City area. If you’re interested in one or both of these big bundles of love, please visit our Linktree page and complete an application. https://linktr.ee/northernstardogrescue
