Story
I am a long-term dog resident here at the Champaign County Humane Society! What does that mean? It means I have been available for adoption for over 90 days and am more than ready to find my forever home! In fact, the shelter is waiving my adoption fee for any approved applicant. Please stop by the shelter during open hours to visit with me! Bella is a 3-year-old, spayed female Boxer mix available for adoption at CCHS. Bella came to us when her previous owner was no longer able to care to her due to illness in the family. Bella is here with us now, and waiting as patiently as she can for a new forever home! Bella is a very sweet girl who is always happy and wiggly when she gets to be with friends. Her previous owners described her as protective of them and very family-oriented. She would love to be the only dog in her new home, as other dogs can make her nervous sometimes. Come look into Bella's beautiful, soulful eyes and fill out an application for this great girl at CCHS!

Story
Squeak was left behind at the vet clinic by an owner who brought her in for injuries then never came back to get her.  Squeak is a boxer pitbull mix puppy who is super playful and would love room to run and play and burn off energy.   Here's hoping we can find her a forever home.Clay County Animal Rescue & Shelter is located at 375 Water Elm Lane, Flora, IL. Our phone number is 618-665-3005.  We are renovating our shelter so hours are by appointment only.  The typical adoption fee for dogs is $150.  It includes vaccination, deworming , spay/neuter, heartworm testing on dogs of age and microchipping, which is now mandatory by state law.  Some dogs we discount to as little as $50 due to sponsorship.  Some dogs we ask a higher adoption fee, which helps us recoup expenses on heartworm treatment on other dogs. All cats are spayed/neutered/vaccinated/flea treated/dewormed and microchipped prior to adoption.  Cat adoption fees range from $60-$100.  We spay/neuter/microchip/vaccinate and deworm all kittens and cats, prior to adoption.  Our shyer/less adoptable cats are classed as "barn cats" and are free with a completed/approved barn cat application, which can be found on our website. For updates on adoption events and more pics of pets available, go to our website, www.claycountyshelter.com or look for us on Facebook.   August 7, 2024, 12:15 am
