Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Kanga is sweet as can be, crate trained, working on house training & commands. She also might be a little spoiled by her foster family. Miss Kanga adores everyone. She has the cutest floppy ears & underbite!Kanga & her littermates were dumped on the side of the road. They were found malnourished with Demodex mange & also had respiratory infections. We were able to find five fosters to save this litter. (Eeyore's foster sent in a DNA test. The results are in the photos!) Adopt this girl!   CARE's adoption fee is $250 for dogs/puppies and $100 for cats/kittens and an additional $150 neuter deposit will be required for any animals adopted prior to their spay/neuter surgery (and the deposit will be refunded when the approved adopter brings the animal to his/her CARE vet appointment in COLUMBUS, INDIANA once scheduled). All CARE animals arrive in their forever homes current on age appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, as well as microchipped and spay/neutered (or scheduled for the same).   CARE is an all-volunteer and foster-based rescue organization. We do not have a shelter facility and do not have any employees monitoring inbound applications and emails. Applications are reviewed by each animal’s volunteer foster home. It may be several days before you hear from this animal’s foster home. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our foster volunteers work to navigate a very high volume of inbound adoption applications.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 9:35 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Brianna (Brianna7crum@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Online Adoption Application › Meela is a wonderful joy to have. She's fully potty trained, crate trained, great with other dogs, great with cats, great with farm animals such as chickens and goats. Overall she is a quiet, calm girl who can be shy at times (submissive around other dogs). She did have a dislocated hip that was fixed with an FHO surgery. Her other hip is fractured and healing well on its own. She gets around great and is happy to live her life. She likes to hold her stuffies in her mouth and lay in her crate with the door open or on a dog bed.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 9:35 am

Story
Brave Boone has made great progress since arriving at the shelter. His real personality is blossoming, and we've learned that he loves to chase and retrieve balls; that he is super smart and very interested in learning what to do to earn a treat; and that he has a gentle soul. Boone arrived very underweight, and it has taken a bit of time for him to realize that he will get multiple meals every single day. Now that he doesn't have to worry about food, he is beginning to spend time playing and enjoying attention from people. He is a little timid at first, but when offered a few treats, which he takes very gently, he is happy to make new friends. If you are looking for a loyal friend to spend your days with, come meet Boone. To learn more about Boone, apply at the link below and an adoption counselor can reach out to you directly. https://www.bchumane.org/adoption-application/

Bugs is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian.Bugs has been with another dog since we had her. She is potty trained, crate trained and shock collar trained. Very food motivated. {Notes from the time she was in shelter} - In the picture, she's the one with more white on the face! She likes to roll around in the grass and be so silly, but after that she is the most snuggly girl. She likes to be in people's laps and to give kisses and take naps. She rides pretty well in the car after the first few minutes of excitement! She can be a liiiittle bit nervous when she first meets other dogs, but once she gets to sniff a bit, she relaxes! She has met children of all ages and done very well. Sometimes she jumps up, but then she remembers to be gentle because they are small just like her!If you would like to inquire into adopting this pet, PLEASE CALL 812-668-0473***Please ignore the Apply to Adopt button for this pet & contact the owner directly***

Story
Stella has been living it up in a foster home. Her foster humans have the following to say about her: Stella is a truly sweet and gentle dog who loves affection. She can be wonderfully lazy if you let her, content to lounge around the house with her favorite people. While she enjoys going on walks and exploring, she's equally happy to spend quiet days indoors. At home, her manners are impeccable—she’s never had an accident, isn’t destructive, and is perfectly content to nap on the couch if left alone for a few hours. Stella also has a unique love for buses and tries to board every parked one she encounters. We are actively working on building her confidence around new people and sounds, and she is already showing progress. She needs a patient and kind owner to help her learn to stay calm instead of barking in challenging situations. Occasionally, Stella pulls on the leash when she gets excited, but she’s a quick learner and has already improved significantly in walking nicely without tension on the leash. Stella is a wonderful dog and fostering her has been a joy. She’s looking for a forever family to give her the love she craves!

Story
Skye is a Courtesy Listing and is not housed at the Animal Shelter. Please note that the City of Bloomington Animal Care & Control accepts no responsibility for this pet. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating directly with the pet's guardian. Skye is a boxer mix breed. She is around 3 years old. She would best be in a house with no children, cats or dogs. She would also be best with someone you who can be home most of the time. She is food aggressive and is timid to meet people. Eventually she might warm up- it would take a few times of meeting her. She really is a good dog. Our house circumstance just don’t fit her needs right now. If you are interested in Skye, please call or text: 812-788-0009. ***Please ignore the Apply to Adopt button for this pet & contact the owner directly***
