Story
Meet Harley! This adorable boxer babe is three years old and weighs in around 60 pounds. She is eagerly awaiting a family that will love her for the wonderful pup she is! Our beloved Harley is currently enjoying some well-deserved time away from the kennel in a fabulous foster home! She is both crate-trained and house-trained! A bright and eager learner, Harley is ready to show off her skills! She knows commands like sit, down, shake, and off! With the help of high-value treats, she's ready to learn even more! When it comes time to play, she is ready and willing to have a good time! She likes her stuffed toys and enjoys chasing a ball. Playing tug is her favorite! A fenced in yard for her to romp in is a must for this fun-loving pup! Harley enjoys going for walks and does best when harnessed. Up for exploring? She rides well in the car and is ready to join you on all of your adventures! At the end of a fun-filled day, Harley is perfectly content to spend her day lounging inside with her people. She enjoys snuggling in with cozy blankets on her favorite spot on the couch. She sleeps quietly through the night, grateful for foster family and hopeful her forever family will soon come her way. Based on our evaluation, Harley would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. She has lived with kids before and adores them! Although Harley is dog selective, we feel she would do best as the only animal in the home. She needs an experienced adopter who is ready to train her and form a lifelong bond. If you think you could be the family to give Harley the forever home she deserves, please visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application today!

Story
Make sure you let us know you saw Bren on Adopt-a-pet. At 13.5 years old, Bren has found herself as one of the many unclaimed strays here at the shelter. Given her age, this is especially heartbreaking as she deserves the softest blankets, the most delicious food, and an owner that adores her. A Boxer mix, she still has a little pep in her step, and a whole lot of love to give. We want all the best for Bren so we want for her to be the only pet and we're hoping for a fenced yard too. P.S. Bren did have a lipoma mass removed on the R side of her rib area on 10/11. She will need to have a re-check 14 days from that date. *Bren is not accepting of other dogs or cats. We're not sure what she's experienced in her past life that has turned her off from them, but at this stage, she deserves to relax and enjoy the rest of her life the way she prefers.

Story
Hello everyone! My name is Korbal, and I am an incredibly cute, 6 month old puppy. I weigh 35 pounds right now, but I will probably get a little bigger. I am a little timid right now and need a family who can give me the confidence and structure I need. I am active and playful – I would just love a fun family to run around and play with! Being close to you and getting all kinds of love and attention is my top priority though! I need some basic obedience training, but I'm a very smart boy so I'm sure I'll learn quickly with the right person or family. Being as I am a little shy and submissive, I do need an adopter who has the time up front to work on building my confidence and positive socialization. I really look to you for comfort and guidance. With some structure and direction, I know I will just thrive. I really want my forever family to find me, it’s kind of scary in this kennel environment. Another nice, confident doggy in the home may help with my confidence building. I am a little timid when meeting other dogs and tend to hide behind my person, but gosh, I think I might really like a friend. If you are looking for a best friend, please come and meet me. I can’t wait. If you are interested in Korbal and are at least 21 years old, please fill out an application at K9stray.com and we will be in touch. Thank you. *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*
