Story
Herbie is a lovable 70-pound Boxer mix with a heart full of gold. About a year old, he was found wandering the back roads of Tennessee without a collar or microchip, battling a tough case of mange. While no one has come forward to claim him, Herbie is now looking for his forever family! His skin is healing beautifully, and his sweet, curious nature shines through more each day. ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 Herbie enjoys his daily walks and is getting better at leash manners. He’s also learning to curb his excitement when greeting people! He’s great with other dogs and, after playtime, is happy to sit quietly by your side. He hasn’t been tested with cats or kids yet, but we think his gentle personality would be a great match for the right home! Critter Cavalry Rescue is a Middle Tennessee-based 501(c)(3) that travels to the Northeast states weekly, helping high-risk homeless animals like Herbie find loving homes. For more info on our mission, adoption fees, and drop-off points, visit us at CritterCavalry.com! &#226&#156&#168 Could your family be the one Herbie's been waiting for? &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to request an adoption application.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 4, 2025, 12:35 pm

Story
I have had Remy since he was 8 weeks old. I acquired him from a breeder in Bremerton, WA. Remy will be 3 years old on October 12th. Unfortunately, with my busy work schedule, we do not have time to give him the attention he deserves. Remy loves to cuddle and be around family, run, play and receive love. Words I would use to describe Remy would include: Loving, kind, playful, energetic, sweet.

Story
Meet Sheena! Born on January 24th, Sheena and her siblings—Prince, Wendy, Lisa, and Apollonia—came to us from Alabama. Their mother was spayed and remains with her family. Sheena is very smart; she learned to use the dog door and knows basic commands.  Here is what her foster has to say about her: Sheena is very playful. She loves toys of all kinds, cuddling with her people and going on adventures. Sheena will need time to adjust to her new home and their routines. Her future family should understand that pet ownership is a lifelong commitment, involving daily exercise, continuous training, and socialization. Remember, a good puppy is a tired puppy. If you're considering adopting Sheena, we request that you DO NOT CALL us. Instead, please complete an online application on 4 Paws Animal Rescue's website at www.4pawz.org. We verify the care of past/current pets. Our primary goal is to find the best homes for all our dogs and cats. As such, we reserve the right to approve or deny adoption applications based on determining what's in the pet's best interest. #LoveDogsForever #MixedBreed #MixedPuppy #RescuedIsTheBestBreed #Dogs #PuppiesAreACommitment #RescueDog #LoveDogs #Adopt #AdoptDontShop #Puppies

Story
Meet Marshall! This sweet pup is very shy and will take some time to warm up. When we first met him, Marshall did not know how to walk on a leash and had limited socialization. He has come a very long way but will need an owner who is willing to continue working with him. Marshall walks well on a leash once he has it on. He may get startled at loud noises or unfamiliar places and will stick next to his person for reassurance. Marshall likes all kinds of treats and will accept them gently. He is slowly becoming curious about toys and wants to play but isn`t quite sure how. Marshall would do best in a quiet home with all adults or children over age 15 who will be patient with him. He is a wonderful pup and just needs someone to love him with the patience that he deserves. Come in and meet him today!

These pups are in Hampton, Virginia too!

Story
Finn is available to meet qualified applicants BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.Please email contact@animalaidsociety.org for more information.Finian was found wandering the streets of Hampton on March 16th, his back leg injured and his head, face, eyes, and mouth burned with acid. This poor boy was left to fend for himself. Luckily, the amazing people who found him were able to get him to The COVE (Center Of Veterinary Expertise) for care and comfort that first night, then he went to stay with our friends at Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter for a few days, and now he's with us. We may never know who did this to Finn, but we do know that even though he's been through a lot... the only time he cries is when he's left alone. Over the past few months, Finn's face has healed, his vision has improved (but will never be great), and he underwent very intricate orthopedic surgery to repair his back leg. Finn desperately wants to be with people, but, he's never really had a chance to be a "normal" dog with loving humans. He's still learning. Sometimes he's fearful, sometimes he's over-excited and mouthy, and sometimes he's a calm snuggly dude. Finn will only be considered for adoption to a home with no children (nobody under the age of 18), and no other pets. He needs an experienced person to help him take his next steps towards recovery.Interested? Come for a visit any day of the week - 365 days a year between 9am - 12pm. Hope to see you soon!PLEASE NOTE: Animal Aid Society observes a 40 mile adoption radius to facilitate post adoption support and follow ups.

Story
Squiggly is currently in a foster home. If you are interested in meeting with him, please visit PRAS-FOSTER@NNVA.GOV.I AM A `PICK ME PET`!What is a PICK ME PET? PICK ME PETS are pets that Friends of Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter sponsor to aid in their adoption! This program was created to help highlight animals that have been overlooked during their shelter stay. Pick Me Pets are `Diamonds in the Ruff`Pick Me Pets are chosen by board members who commit to spending lots of time with these animals! This helps us share their story to find the best match possible. Our Pick Me Pets spend weekly time with volunteers and enjoy an offsite adventure at least once a month. All adoption fees are SPONSORED thanks to generous supporters of Friends of Peninsula Regional Animal Shelter!Squiggs went on 2 ExPAWditions! Let`s read all about them:(11/4/24)What a great expawdition Squiggly and I shared at Sandy Bottom Park in Hampton. I picked-up my charge from PRAS and started our morning`s adventure with a backpack full of dog treats and water. Squiggs thoroughly enjoyed his 15-minute car ride...he sat quietly in the backseat and was so attentive to the activities going on outside. Squiggs was eager to start our walk along the hiking trails. He`s a very curious pup and enjoyed sniffing and pawing at leaves and a haybale we came across on the trail. Squiggs and I stopped at several spots along the way for a snack and water break and to enjoy the beautiful trees and lake. Squiggs always put on his best behavior when he walked past other dogs also enjoying their day in the sun...Squiggs didn`t carry on, he just buffed his hello and kept focused on his walk. Squirrels are Squiggs` passion. He was so alert as he watched those critters scamper across the trail and up the trees, but Squiggs never lost his composure. He enjoyed walking around in the Park`s Nature Center and was so polite to the other patrons. He was always on his best behavior, no matter what we were doing. Afterwards, Squiggs and I enjoyed some Chik-Fil-A nuggets and ice-cream...those are evidently his favorite cuisine. However, throughout our trip, Squiggs took each treat (milkbones, Pupperoni, nuggets) very gently from my fingers to enjoy it...such a gentleman. Squiggs is such an AWESOME `pup.` He thoroughly enjoys walks and makes a great and affectionate companion and friend. He loves being scratched behind his ears. Squiggs is a natural for a fa
