Story
Donations Needed for heartworm treatment - this very skinny, sweet cocker boy can hopefully start his heartworm treatment real soon, after he gains some weight. He is high heartworm positive. It will probably take three treatments with rest and recovery time and then we will re-test. Please help us with his care by donating to Cabarrus Animal Hospital at (704) 786-6102. Just tell the staff that you would like to make a donation to Charlotte Cocker Rescue, the Donna Carpenter account or you can send a check to CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081. PayPal too. Meet Henry, a very neglected, scared, skinny 4-year-old Cocker boy. He is a sweet boy who craves attention and love. He has always lived outside and was never given any love or attention by the owners. He is high heartworm positive because he was never on any kind of prevention. The staff at this particular NC shelter were tipped of last October to investigate this as a cruelty case. The owners were cautioned to get this dog groomed as he was very overgrown, skinny and pitiful looking from neglect. The shelter folks went out to this home again to do a check on him. They found him badly matted with ears adhered to his head. After questioning them again about neglect of care, the owner agreed to surrender him over to the shelter. He had to be sedated to be groomed and he also got neutered. The shelter asked for rescue help due to high heartworm positive. They transported to us, and he will be taken care of properly. This boy is so nice, easy going and calm. He is very loving and craves attention. He will need to go through heartworm treatment and then he will have a dental. He seems to prefer woman over men. He will be here in rescue for several months. He will not be up for adoption until all of his vetting needs are taken care of and he is a healthy boy. Please donate to help with his care as shown above. Any amount is greatly appreciated and thank you for your kindness to help this boy on his way to a better life.

Story
Donations Urgently Needed to help us with the care of this sweet Cocker Girl. She has several vet needs that we must address. Please donate to CCR, P.O. Box 1050, Kannapolis, NC 28081 or you can call it into our rescue vet, Cabarrus Animal Hospital at (704)786-6102 and tell them you want to make a donation to Charlotte Cocker Rescue, Donna Carpenters account. Your kindness is appreciated, and no amount is too small. Foster Mom and Dad will be adopting this sweet girl after all vetting needs are done. Meet Blondie. She is a 5- to 7-year-old reddish buff Cocker Girl. She came from a NC Shelter. They said she was running around as a stray and covered in fleas. She was given multiple baths, and they found that she had whipworms. They guessed her to be 4 to 5 years old, but our vet said that she is older as indicated above. This Cocker girl is very sweet, rides well in a car and walks pretty good on a leash. At our vet appointment we learned she has ear infections, needs to be spayed, have a dental and treatment for whipworms. She was pretty good on the table but didn't like the staff messing with her ears or looking at her teeth. She came in with here with tests showing a grade 3 heart murmur and severely anemic. This diagnosis sometimes indicates that she had heartworms at one point even though she is now testing as heartworm negative. She is now on a liquid iron supplement for the anemia issue and the meds seem to be helping. She will be re-checked again in a few weeks to see if there is even more improvement. If so, then she can be spayed, have her dental and re-check the heart murmur issue. She has been groomed and moved to a foster home in Statesville. No young kids, teen and older okay. This dog will not be available until all vetting needs are done. When she is ready, her adoption fee will be $400.
