Story
Petal is one of six adorable little souls were rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding case in Mississippi. Found on a property with their mom (who is also available for adoption through us) and many other dogs in dire conditions, their story is one of resilience and hope. A dedicated local rescuer went above and beyond to save as many dogs as possible from that dire situation, and we are thrilled to have this lovely family in our care. Here's a link to their story on FB - be prepared - the pictures are depressing at best:https://www.facebook.com/share/ghrUMnQNEhNQazDB/?mibextid=WC7FNePetal is sweet and silly and always up for fun! She flourishes in social situations, eager for people to stop and say 'hi'. She's been having a blast going to the park or attending youth baseball games this summer where she eagerly awaits the opportunity to meet new people (especially kids). She's been brushing up on her swimming skills and loves splashing around in the water, showing her dog friends how it's done.Petal is a play hard sleep hard kind of lady, and is most content cuddled up next to her human for a nap. She is quiet but curious and is always happy to explore new places and try new things with her people. She is a very happy confident dog that adapts easily to new situations and environments. She is very food motivated and quick to learn and has been practicing her manners and making lots of progress. She is good on leash and rarely pulls and great in the car. Petal loves humans of all sizes, is good with cats and dogs, though she would be just as happy as an only dog as she adores being the center of attention. Petal is so eager to find her forever home and bring joy to her new family. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours at a time until he's older. Puppy proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so important in this puppy's life.
