Story
Meet Chip, a charming Boxer/Mastiff cross with a lighter brindle coat and a personality as endearing as his name. Chip is still discovering the world of being a dog and is eager to find a patient and loving forever home where he can continue to learn and grow.Chip is new to the experience of walking on a leash and can sometimes feel overwhelmed by new surroundings, but he's making progress each day with patience and encouragement. Despite his initial uncertainties, Chip shows a blossoming confidence and a sweet, affectionate nature. He enjoys rubbing up against you like a cat and absolutely adores bum scratches, which never fail to bring out his happy, wiggly self. While Chip could potentially enjoy the company of doggy friends outside the home with proper introductions, he should be the only animal in the household. His interactions with smaller animals are unknown, so a home where he can receive undivided attention and love would be ideal for him.If you're looking to bring home a loyal companion who will reward you with endless love and affection, consider welcoming Chip into your life. Come meet Chip today and discover the joy of giving him the forever home he deserves. Primary Color: Black Brindle Secondary Color: White Weight: 39.4 Age: 3yrs 6mths 4wks

Meet Grizzie, the goofy-looking Mastiff mix who's ready to steal your heart with his charming looks and playful personality!Grizzie is a big, lovable goofball who thinks he's a lap dog. He absolutely adores neck rubs and will happily snuggle up with you any chance he gets. His silly expressions and quirky antics will keep you laughing and smiling all day long. He seems quite aloof to other dogs and would likely benefit from a confident canine friend in the homeDespite his initial wariness of new people, Grizzie is making great strides in meeting new friends with the right introduction. He's the perfect companion for someone who can give him the patience and positive reinforcement he needs to feel secure.Grizzies ideal home is with an experienced dog owner who can continue to help him build his confidence and navigate his "stranger danger" moments.Grizzie has a fondness for stuffies and loves chasing balls, and playing exuberantly with his little sister. With a slow introduction, he would likely do well with new dog friends. Grizzie enjoys his walks and prances like a little deer, taking in all the new sights.Prospective adopters must submit and have their applications approved before meeting Grizzie, as his nervousness around new people requires controlled introductions. Walk-in meet and greets without an approved application will not be accommodated. If you have the experience and patience to help Grizzie overcome his challenges, you will be rewarded with all the love he has to offer once he feels safe and secure.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-cowichan/ Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 34.3 Age: 2yrs 9mths 0wks

Story
Daisy, an adorable Bullmastiff mix, is the smallest of her litter, weighing just 23kg, while her big brother is double her size!! Daisy grew up in an environment with limited human interaction, resulting in her being more comfortable with dogs and somewhat aloof towards them. She would likely benefit from a confident canine friend in the home. This under-socialization with people has led to some "stranger danger," making her best suited for an experienced dog owner who practices positive reinforcement training and is willing to work with an Animal Kind trainer.Once Daisy overcomes her initial fears, her sweet personality truly blossoms. She loves neck and ear scratches, enjoys cuddling in your lap, and giving gentle kisses. Her most endearing feature is her little snaggle-tooth, which always brings a smile to our faces. Daisy has a fondness for stuffies and loves chasing balls, and playing exuberantly with her big brother. With a slow introduction, she would likely do well with new dog friends. Daisy enjoys her walks and prances like a little deer, taking in all the new sights.Daisy has shown some stress and anxiety in the shelter, but it is believed that these issues will significantly diminish with a consistent routine in a stable home. Loud noises and sudden movements can startle her, so she is looking for an adult-only home without other animals until her confidence improves.Prospective adopters must submit and have their applications approved before meeting Daisy, as her nervousness around new people requires controlled introductions. Walk-in meet and greets without an approved application will not be accommodated. If you have the experience and patience to help Daisy overcome her challenges, you will be rewarded with all the love she has to offer once she feels safe and secure.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-cowichan/ Primary Color: Tan Secondary Color: White Weight: 22.4 Age: 2yrs 9mths 0wks

Story
Say hello to Winston! This guy is a charming 9-year-old Bullmastiff Staffordshire cross with a heart of gold and a strong desire for affection. Winston has a zest for life like none other - he is always happy to go out for a walk, a game of fetch, or to just curl up next to his favourite person on the couch! He is a very active dog and would benefit from going to a household that can take him on plenty of adventures! Winston has spent his entire life with a loving family but unfortunately was surrendered because his exuberance was a bit much for young children. Despite this, Winston is incredibly loving and playful, with a heart that's always ready to love and be loved. He is now searching for a forever family who can appreciate his boundless affection and playful spirit.Due to his excitable nature, Winston would thrive in a home without small children, but older sturdy kids might be a good match. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion who will be your devoted friend, Winston might be the perfect companion for you. Please contact the Kamloops branch with any further questions or fill out an application below.https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/dog-pre-adoption-questionnaire/ Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Spotted Weight: 37.9 Age: 9yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
We just can't understand why our sweet Jolena has been waiting for a home for months! This beautiful girl sadly came from an experience of neglect, and lack of socialization and enrichment. When she and her sister first joined us, they were underweight, malnourished, and very fearful. Jolena has now been with us for a while and is a different dog from when she first arrived! She is our resident social butterfly! We are all in love with her! Jolena is an energetic and affectionate 3 year old Bullmastiff. Surprisingly for her breed she is not that big, weighing at only 80lbs! She adores all of our staff and volunteers, and will greet you with a huge smile! That being said, Jolena is easily excited and can get a bit over-enthusiastic with attention, so she'll need a guardian who can offer her a calm demeanour and patience, while she continues to work on her own calm behaviours. JoJo (the nickname we gave her) LOVES people, but because she easily gets overstimulated, she would do best in a home without a lot of commotion and without small children. Our sweetheart Jolena is VERY food-motivated, which will be a very helpful component in her training process! You'll hear her little footsies pitter-patter and the porky sniffs of her cute snout as she enters the room. The first thing she'll do is come up to you with a big happy smile and gentle twinkly eyes to say hello, and then she'll move onto scanning the room with her adorable piggy snout in search of any loose treats! This adorable and lovable honey-pie would do well in a home with another canine companion, after a slow introduction process is completed. She is very friendly with people and dogs! Poor JoJo has never experienced the stability and comfort that a real, loving home offers, so she is still working on her potty-training. Her house-training has drastically improved with us, however, and she is even starting to sometimes WAIT to go outside to potty! She has also started to pull a lot less on the leash since she first came to us, and is very willing to listen to you, especially if you have treats! We've discovered through her enrichment activities that she likes to play fetch with squeaky bouncy balls! In addition to being happy and playful, Jolena will definitely enjoy lounging on a comfy bed or couch, while lazily cuddling with her human. If you're interested in giving this adorable girl the life she deserves, please submit an application online or drop-in and visit Tuesday-Sunday 12pm-3pm at our BC SPCA animal shelter in West Vancouver. Jolena will be excited to see you! Primary Color: Fawn Weight: 38.2 Age: 3yrs 2mths 4wks

Story
Meet the spectacular Cecil! Are you looking for your next companion whose heart is as big as his paws? Cecil is an absolute show-stopper and is eagerly waiting for his ideal adopter to notice him! His perfect home would be willing to give him alllllllllll of their attention as the only dog in the home, as he can play a little rough sometimes, and understand his desire to chase cats. He LOVES being around his people and is always willing to play with toys or spend time in the yard with those that he's familiar with.Cecil is a very handsome fellow, but he is still working on his confidence with new environments and people. He will need a patient adopter who is willing to shower him with compliments, and help make those new experiences a little less scary. He is still learning the ropes of good manners and will need some help ensuring that all 4 paws stay on the ground, but Cecil promises to give you all of his love and snuggles in return.Cecil is a very big boy, so he will need lots of space, and lots of food, to keep him looking and feeling his best. If you are interested in adopting su-paw-star Cecil, please submit an application to the Shuswap branch through the link below!https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-shuswap/ Primary Color: Apricot Secondary Color: Black Weight: 59 Age: 2yrs 4mths 0wks
