Story
Barack entered my life by crawling under my car. He was so cute, I decided to keep him. I took him to the vet the next day to see if he was microchipped but he was not. He was only 5 weeks old and weighed 7 lbs. I asked the vet what breed he might be and she replied "Bullmastiff." I did not know what that entailed but I knew he would be a big boy. Now Barack is 18 months and about 90 lbs. He needs room to spread out and grow. My wish is that he goes to a home that will love him as much as we do. He needs a big yard, lots of attention, someone that has time to take him on walks and dedicate time to train him. Barack loves to play with other dogs and toys. He has some food aggression issues but other than that he is sweet and loves belly rubs.

Story
On Sunday, January 29, 2022, I found a puppy on the street near my home. Upon spending $250 at Common Companion vet on the pup, I named him Barack and decided to keep and raise him. I found that Barack was a Bullmastiff mix, about 5 weeks old and weighed about 10 lbs at the time. Though raising puppies is challenging, especially considering my lifestyle, it has been a joy raising Barack. He adapted to house breaking very quickly. He also had been very responsive to the trainer commands. Barack is now about 95 lbs and probably fully grown. He is quite loving, acts like a big puppy and gets along with other dogs delightfully. He has had a best buddy, French Bulldog, to play with all his life. He is basically a house dog and not around many strangers often. His disposition is OK when around familiar people and/or surroundings. His breed is one of being naturally protective of the ones he loves. We hate to have to give him up and pray that his new owners will be as caring.
