Story
PWRESCUE.ORG **PHOENIX METRO AREA ONLY** Look at this cutie! Meet Luna, a 6-year-old, 20-pound scruffy terrier blend with a zest for life and plenty of energy to enjoy it! Despite being in her middle years, Luna is still full of fun and adventure. Luna would be perfectly content as the only dog in your home or with a non-dominant male dog. She loves exploring the outdoors, so a secure, fenced backyard is a must—she’s not suited for apartment or condo living. Luna enjoys walks and would be thrilled to spend the day with you, whether you're going on adventures or just hanging out together. While Luna is easygoing, she prefers to be the only female dog in your life. She’s not particularly fussy, but she’d rather not share her home with other female dogs. We’re not sure about her interactions with cats or young children, so we recommend a home with older, responsible kids who can appreciate her delightful personality. Luna is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300.00. If you’re ready to make Luna a cherished member of your family, please visit https://pwrescue.org and click on the “Adopt” button to complete an application.  Pathways Home Animal Rescue August 15, 2024, 9:04 pm

Story
Mama Chica Hi Mama Chica is full of pep & loves to run like she’s a puppy. She is FAST, her playstyle is rambunctious & a little mouthy. She loves playing chase with either her humans or another dog - even a larger dog. If there are no toys laying around she will pick up an adult shoe and take off with it, but she has not chewed up anything at home with her foster family. She would probably do best with children over third grade because she jumps very actively for attention and might knock a small child over. She has spent lots of time with an 11 year old boy and does fine as long as the child understands giving her space until she is ready to approach. Mama is not afraid of playing with a large dog & will taunt them to play with her. She is pushy but needs a slow introduction & supervision until the pecking order is established because make no mistake Mama definitely wants to be alpha. She does growl and snap until the other dog realizes who is calling the shots so it’s best if other dogs are non-reactive. Mama does do some resource guarding with food & should be fed separately from other dogs. She gravitated toward foster mama first and it took her about 2 weeks to establish relationship with a senior GS & 18 month old Doberman, both males, and foster dad, but there was also a litter of 5 puppies present for the first three weeks. In the evening Mama does want to curl up on the couch next to a human & warns other dogs off but settles down once she is corrected. A good thing is Mama can be very cuddly, likes to wait on the bed while her human takes a shower. She sleeps peacefully all night in a small kennel at foot of the bed but does not like to be shut in a separate room. Sleeps almost 9 hours at night, also lays in her kennel voluntarily during the day as her “safe space“. At bedtime we say “Go to your kennel. Go to bed“ and she goes straight in with no fuss. Mama is let outside immediately upon waking, potties outside & in urgent times mostly hits the potty pad dead on. Mama eats 2X day about 10 hours apart then immediately goes outside to do her daily business twice a day. Very seldom has an indoor accident. Riding in a car the only place Mama feels safe is between the drivers legs which is dangerous, so it is best if she is kenneled in a car. With regular daily practice, she is perfecting walking on a leash. Sometimes she gets distracted out in the wide, wide world and spins, so a halter is better than a collar when walking. If Mama Chica is the only dog in the home, she will need to be socialized often or she can be possessive of her human. She has a very loud BARK! We say we don’t need a doorbell. we have Mama Chica! Best if her adopter does not live in a home with common walls.

Story
Hi Friends! It’s me Baxter! I’d like to introduce myself to let you know I’m on the hunt for my forever home. I found myself as a stray last summer but my friends at Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary scooped my up, took me to the vet for a check-up, and found me a new home. Happy ending, right?? For several months, my life was picture perfect with my loving guardians; however, circumstances intervened and I returned to FLPS. My former family reported I am a “perfect dog” who loves belly rubs and evening walks. So here we are…I’m currently lounging in a foster home while they make all sorts of observations. Some highlights my foster reported include: I especially like attention and bond very quickly to my people. However, I’m not a demanding sort, I just want some pats on the head then I’m happy to lay quietly beside you. I’ve lived with cats and easily assimilate with quiet dogs. If a friendly dog gets a little too nosy, I’ll give him a little verbal reminder then all is good. It’s important to me that my new home be on the quiet side, with guardians that project calm energy. I’m also reliably housetrained, am a low shedder, and sleep soundly through the whole night. Last but definitely not least, check out my amazing golden-brown eyes! You’ll be mesmerized when you see me in person; my soulful stare draws you right in and you won’t be able to resist my charms. Would you like to meet up? Head to foreverlovedpets.org to fill out an app. Can’t wait to see you! Baxter is a 10 -year -old, 32 -pound Cairn Terrier mix.

Bambi seems to prefer women to men and can be somewhat uncomfortable with men...she may do better with a woman as her primary "person" in the home. She would most likely do best in a nice, quiet and calm home. She is not a barker dog but does have the cutest little howl. Bambi could do very well with another gentle, calm dog to encourage her confidence building and teach her how to be just a fun happy dog. Bambi's happy place is napping on her blanket, or out in the sun.  If you are interested in meeting this dog, please visit our website for our online application www.underdogaz.com PLEASE NOTE: This dog is courtesy posted for another individual or Rescue. Jill loves everyone and does not discriminate! Kids, teens, grown-ups, men, women, etc! But careful, she is not shy and will give you lots of kisses on the lips if you let her! 😂 She gives great hugs too, or at least wants to be hugged! Already house trained, she’s a pro at using the dog door to do her business outside, and sleeps quietly through the night in her dog bed. Super soft and fluffy coat, which means she also sheds. 🤷‍♀️ loves to chew bones and ice. Even while pregnant, she’s able to climb/jump over your basic dog fences and pens. 😬 https://forms.gle/YEGFfhUa1kdtusnN6

Story
Check out the cutest bonded pair ever! Milo is 25lbs. He is white, tan, black in color. He is border collie chihuahua mix. He is 6 years old and estimated birthday is Dec 28th 2016. He is low energy. He doesn’t do well with young kids. He is okay around them but doesn’t like when kids run. We think he gets scared and his herding instinct comes out and wants to herd the kids. He has Addison’s disease and take a pill every couple days and gets a shot every month. He urinates a lot due to his medication and needs to be let outside every couple hours. He is very cuddly and loves to sleep on anything soft. He does very well with other dogs and has had experience being around cats and does fine once he warms up to them. He self feeds but is able to be put on a routine to eat if needed. Luna is 40lbs and mostly reddish brown in color. Luna is 5 years old and estimated birthday is March 6th 2017. She is the sweetest dog you’ll ever meet. She is medium energy. She loves to play but also loves to cuddle and nap in a warm spot on the couch. She is house trained and rarely has accidents inside. She does well with everyone and every dog and cat once she warms up. She is loyal and just wants all the tummy rubs. She is self fed but can be put on routine if needed. She will be your best friend.

Story
Oh our wise man Odin is just such an adorable scruffy! Hard to say what breed he is as he is a sweet rescue which in my opinion that breed is perfect! Our best guess is border terrier/schnauzer plus adorable scruffiness! He's about 10-11 weeks old. He is great with other dogs. He is crate trained and working on his house training. His adoption fee is $350 and that includes his neuter, 4 puppy vaccines, microchip and 30 days free pet insurance. To meet him text 480-718-1312.August 19, 2024, 12:55 pm
