Meet Sammy – Your Adventure-Ready Lap Dog!
Sammy is a 10-pound, low-shedding mix who came to us from a local shelter in rough shape—overgrown, matted, and absolutely terrified. But underneath it all, he’s a sweet, affectionate pup just waiting for the right home to help him continue building confidence.
While his exact age is a guess (the shelter estimated 5 years old, but his foster thinks he could be closer to 2), one thing is certain—Sammy has plenty of energy and would love an active home that enjoys long walks, hikes, and playtime. He’s also a total cuddle bug and makes a wonderful lap companion once he feels safe.
Sammy thrives in the company of other dogs and would do best as a second or third pup in a multi-dog home where he can follow their lead. Because he takes some time to warm up, he’d be happiest in a calm, adult home without young children.
He’s doing well with house training and will flourish in a home that provides a consistent routine. Sammy will also need regular grooming to keep his coat in good shape. With time, patience, and love, he’s going to make an amazing, devoted companion.

If deemed a good fit, the foster parent will reach out to schedule a meet-and-greet or seek additional information.
In the event your application isn't accepted or might be a better fit for another dog, we will provide feedback and suggest alternative matches. All our dogs undergo comprehensive vetting, including spaying/neutering, microchipping, DHPP, flea treatment, deworming, and Rabies vaccinations. Additional vet care is provided as needed based on their requirements. The adoption fee for this dog is $450 serving as a non-refundable donation. Adoption fees may vary based on factors such as vetting costs, transport, and age.
