Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Jimmy Dean is an adorable Cairn Terrier/ Yorkie mix, we think!!!  He is about 4 years old and weighs 13 pounds.   Jimmy's human mom passed away and her kids couldn't wait to get him out of the home.  We didn't want him to go to the shelter so we took him in.  Poor little guy is terrified and he was growling at the vet staff.  Turns out his mom was a back yard breeder and the family only wanted to keep the "adoptable" ones.   Luckily little Jimmy Dean is getting more comfortable and is starting to trust his caretakers.  They can now take him out of the crate and love on him.  We feel he would do best in a home without small children since we don't know if he's ever been around any.  He does well with other dogs and with a little patience he will make a perfect lap dog.   If you would like to meet Jimmy Dean please fill out an application from our website.  Fenced yard required for his safety.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 19, 2025, 11:54 am

Story
Fat Head is a sweet & perfect older boy. He does well in his crate and walks great on a leash. Being 10 years old his vision is going and he does have cataracts. He also does have a systolic heart murmur, suspected mild mitral valve. We recommend adoptor monitors and follows up with a full service veterinarian. Please visit our website www.adoptionfirstanimalrescue.com to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
Oscar was adopted from his previous owner by me in 2020. His previous owner shared that Oscar was the baby of the family until they started having children of their own when they began to realize that he wasn't willing to share space with them. During the first two years, I worked with Oscar to better socialize him, as he was not the friendliest dog to people that he didn't know. Now, Oscar gets along with almost anyone and everyone who will give him attention. While a senior dog, Oscar still has the energy of a puppy and doesn't have a great understanding of personal space. It was reported that around the time that he was originally adopted, he had been hit by a car resulting in a hip injury -- therefore, he doesn't sit normally and often lifts his leg to walk down steps. But from what I can tell, his previous injuries don't effect his mobility. I'm looking to rehome him, as I've come to realize that I don't live a lifestyle that's conducive to dog ownership.

Story
Scrappy and Molly Chi came to us after their human died and the family member dumped them off at the local, crowded shelter. Scrappy is a neutered, Norwich Terrier mix around 4, and Molly Chi is a spayed, Chihuahua mix around 10. We wanted to observe them to see if they were truly bonded because sometimes when situations change, those who lived together before do not care for each other in a different home. But these guys seek each other out to snuggle and sleep together in a bed at nighttime. Because of this, we need to keep them together and honor the relationship that they’ve had for some time. Scrappy is funny and energetic - he would likely do well playing with toys and fetching balls. He does well with the other foster dogs in the home. He is a fun, happy boy. Molly is a little more reserved, cautious. She is very attached to Scrappy to be her safety blanket. Molly also likes to cuddle on her terms and isn’t the kind of Chihuahua mix who likes to be picked up. These guys, because they are a bonded pair, have a reduced adoption donation of $300 so we hope you will consider giving them a stable, loving home and also giving their past person peace knowing their babies are safe. Story
Tina Louise and Peggy Sue were someone's pets for 9 years. When they became unable to care for themselves, they were dropped off at a shelter. We rescued them because we couldn't bear the thought that these two sweet senior gals would be in a scary, loud shelter environment. Peggy gets along ok with other dogs, but also would be fine as the center of all the attention. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. Please bring this sweet, scruffy girl home and apply now!
