Introducing Monty: A Sweet and Spirited Westie in Search of a Loving, Adult-Only HomeMeet Monty, a 3-year-old West Highland White Terrier (Westie) with a heart full of spunk and personality! This adorable little guy may be small in stature, but he`s big on love and enthusiasm. Monty is looking for a family who can appreciate his unique quirks and shower him with the attention he craves. He`s a one-of-a-kind dog who will thrive as the center of attention in an adult-only home.Though Monty is a charming, affectionate companion, he does have a few special needs that will require an experienced and dedicated owner. He has environmental allergies, so his new family will need to help manage his condition with some extra care. Monty also has some resource guarding tendencies—he can be protective of his food, and he’s not too fond of having his feet or tail touched. Because of this, Monty will do best in a home where his personal space is respected, and where boundaries are understood.Training & Behavior Needs:Monty is a smart and loyal dog, but like many Westies, he’s got a bit of a stubborn streak. He’s a dog who knows what he likes, and he’ll need a patient, experienced owner who can work with him on establishing boundaries and reinforcing good behavior.Managing His Allergies: Monty has environmental allergies that require attention to his diet, grooming, and living environment. His new family will need to be mindful of his allergies and work with their vet to develop a plan to keep him comfortable and healthy.Resource Guarding: Monty has shown a tendency to guard his food, so he’ll need a home where his family is prepared to help him overcome this behavior. With consistent training and positive reinforcement, Monty can learn to be more comfortable with his food and treats, but it’s important that his new home is prepared to handle this with care.Respecting His Boundaries: Monty has some sensitivities when it comes to his feet and tail.
