Story
Meet Annie & Hallie, two beautiful dilute calico five-month-old sisters from our "Parent Trap" litter! Their journey started in July when one of our dog adopters in Watertown called to say that they found a baby kitten in their front yard in some brush. After an initial search turned up no other cats, we took her in, and it didn’t take long for her to work her charm—becoming what we lovingly call a "foster fail." Then, just two weeks later, the rest of her family was discovered living in a rundown garage nearby—a young mom, Elizabeth James, and her four kittens: Annie, Hallie, and their siblings Nick Parker and Chessy. These girls are inseparable and must be adopted together. While Annie is the braver and more outgoing of the two, Hallie is a bit shyer and often looks to Annie for confidence and comfort. Annie is the first to explore new things and the first to greet you, while Hallie tends to hang back at first but will approach when she feels comfortable and trusts you. Once she does, you’ll be treated to a sweet session of pets and purring. Both sisters are incredibly curious and love to explore, but they’re a bit cautious with new people and situations. Patience and preferably cat experience are key to helping them adjust to their new home. They’re very social with other cats and are quick to run over and greet any kitty who comes by, purring and showing affection. Annie & Hallie are ready for a patient and loving home where they can continue to thrive. Their adoption fee is $500 and Annie & Hallie are vaccinated, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped, and spayed. If you're interested in these cuties, please fill out an application at https://form.jotform.com/201805462692153. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
Suzanne is a very friendly girl who loves to have attention and spend time with people. She seems open to being friends with other cats and would be a great companion for another adult or senior cat in your home or just for you! Suzanne has tested positive for FIV, also known at kitty Aids. Just like with people it is NOT contagious through casual contact. It's safe to share food, water, and litter box with a negative cat. FIV is only passed by a deep bite wound, where saliva from the positive cat enters the blood stream of another kitty. This is very rare in socialized house cats. FIV cats can have a shorter life span in part due to the fact that with a compromised immune system they are more prone to contracting infections. FIV positive cats must live strictly indoors to reduce the chances of contracting something dangerous. It is NOT a death sentence! FIV positive cats can live well into their teens and have a very normal life. If interested in adopting, start at CatsCT.org. Her spay appointment is January 8th but she is available as a foster to adopt until then and we'd love to finalize her adoption after!

Story
Sacajawea  This little lady is quite the explorer, a perfect nod to her namesake. Found alone along the highway, this beautiful wanderer wandered into the arms of a Good Samaritan and into the rescue. Not only is she curious, inquisitive and fluffy, she has a heart of gold and loves to be loved. Her beautiful flame marking sits atop her head, expressing the warmth of her soul. She is incredibly soft and fluffy and exudes all the best parts of cat ownership - a loving companion, a curious adventure buddy, a cuddle buddy for movie nights - what more could we ask for? It seems as though she found her way into the rescue in perfect timing to bring warmth and love to a new family during these winter months.  Sacajawea is ready to join her future adventure team and create memories and stories together for years to come. Despite being found all alone on a busy highway, she does not show any fear of the unknown and seems to be ready for anything. Are you ready for this little explorer to find you?  You can see more pictures and videos of our fosters on our facebook page:  Sophia L'Orange Kitten Rescue All of our adoptable animals are cared for and assessed in foster homes (we do not have a shelter), up to date on age appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed or neutered and tested for FeLV/FIV, before they are adopted. They have had de-worming medication as a standard of care and Flea/Tick/Ear Mite preventive treatment. Medical records will be released with the adopted pet. ##2255280##

Story
Meet Gumball!  (In Texas)Gumball is a sweet and shy girl who was brought to her finder's patio by her Momma along with her siblings in May of 2023.  She may be a bit reserved at first, but she truly blossoms into a loving and cuddly companion once she gets to know you.Gumball absolutely adores being brushed.  She completely enjoys her morning and evening snuggles. Gumball's favorite pastimes include sitting in the window and bird watching - she's truly a little observer of the world. If you're looking for a furry friend who will be by your side through thick and thin, Gumball is the perfect addition to your family.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.November 4, 2024, 11:33 am

Story
NOTE: A portion of the adoption fee for Suzie is generously being sponsored by an anonymous donor. She can be yours at a reduced fee of $200, pending the standard adoption approval process. Suzie is a sweet girl who needs someone to take a chance on her. She came from a not-so-great situation, so it has taken a while for her foster parents to build up trust with her. She now allows her foster parents to pet, give kisses and even hold her! She is not a lap cat yet, but she is getting there. She loves to sit in the window while hanging out with her foster mom and watching what is going on outside. Because of the situation she was in prior to being fostered, she needs to be the only cat in the household. Suzie was born around March 2021, and she is currently being fostered in Ansonia.  She is fixed, is up-to-date on shots, is microchipped and tested neg for FIV/FeLV* ' All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved.  Application for adoption can be found at  https://www.fosterandforever.org/     Our volunteers do their best to respond within 24 - 48 hrs. Story
Josie is a silly, feisty, small-sized bundle of fun. She LOVES playing with toys and running around after the other cats/kittens. She especially loves rolling around in the cat tunnel and playing with her little stuffed animals. She carries them around, tosses them around, and likes to bathe them in her water dish.  Josie is a shy girl but enjoys getting pet on her head and behind the ears. She can be picked up and handled but is not a fan of being held for long periods of time. She has suffered a right eye trauma as a kitten, and the issue is managed with eye drops. She has expressive eyes that will melt your heart. Josie needs a quiet/calm household as she is skittish of people and loud noises. She loves to play and would do well with other cats/kittens. She would love another cat to chase around, but a home with small children is not recommended as it might make her nervous. Josie was born around the end of February 2022 and is currently being fostered in New Haven. She is fixed, has had her rabies and first distemper shots, is microchipped and tested neg for FIV/FeLV* All of our cats and kittens are cared for in loving foster homes. "Meet and greets" can be arranged only after an application has been submitted and approved.
