Story
Leah is a beautiful girl who takes a minute to warm up to new environments, but once she does she becomes a curious gal looking for new things to explore. She loves to cuddle and be held. Leah also gets along with other cats. Come meet Leah! --- 'I am a Shelter Pull Kitty! This means that when you adopt me, FOF can pull another kitty from a high-kill county shelter. You can help us save TWO lives!' --- All of our cats/kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for FeLV/FIV, vaccinated against Distemper, and treated for fleas and other parasites. If you want to meet a specific kitty, please inquire with us before attending an adoption event, so we can make every effort to have the requested kitties available! --- Adoption center is located at 7962 CLYDE PARK SW, BYRON CENTER MI 49315. Our shelter is open by appointment only. Applications must be submitted and approved before appointments will be set. Story
Calypso was a stray cat in our neighborhood. We rescued her on September 1st, 2024. One week later, we brought her to our vet to test for infectious diseases as we have 2 other cats in our home. We were very surprised to find out she was pregnant! On September 21, 2024, she gave birth to 3 beautiful kittens. She is a great mom and we were able to adopt out her 2 sons. Unfortunately, we have exhausted our options in trying to socialize her with our other 2 cats. She does well with people but does not seem to like her own species. Calypso would thrive in a home without other cats.

Story
It is with a heavy heart that we have decided it best for our household, and for Violet herself, to find her a new home. Violet is a 7 year old tortoiseshell calico, approximately 9lbs. She's fixed, up to date on shots, no health issues, is a strictly indoor cat, and has not been declawed. She's a lover at heart, but in the past few years her relationship with our other female cat has gone from bad to worse. She is a shy but very cuddly sweetheart, likes her solitary time as much as time with her owner. She is a bit picky, no need to buy cat treats - she's more into carbs. Part of the issue here is the territorial marking within our house. Violet did not partake in this behavior prior to living with another female cat, and it is our hope that if she is rehomed to be an only-pet in a home - that this marking will stop. She loves milk rings & ponytail holders, loves propping up in bed and watching TV with someone. She's afraid of new people, but loves her owner. Affectionate & chatty

Story
Meet Bashful! Don't be fooled by this sweet girl's name, she isn't Bashful. She is very affectionate and friendly, and she LOVES people! She is currently in a foster home with people and another adult cat. Her foster family says her and the other adult cat avoid each other for the most part. She has lived with other cats before, but humans are her most favorite. She loves to snuggle up with people, lay at your feet when you're reading, purr and talk to you whenever you are wanting to have a conversation. Bashful has had a dental cleaning, we did senior bloodwork on her (with no significant concerns on the results), and she is current on all her vaccines. She is also fecal tested and negative on fecal parasites, microchipped and spayed. She is ready to find her fur-ever home! She is about 8 years and 8 months old as of January 2025. Bashful is litter box trained but she will only use a covered litter box. She likes her privacy (wink). The $75.00 adoption fee (  payable by cash or check only  ) includes: spay/neuter; vaccinations; senior bloodwork, microchip; fecal testing w/ giardia, flea prevention, and FIV/FeLV/and heartworm testing.  Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Cats for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application.  Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.
