Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. My foster dad calls me Sweetheart due to my calico patterns; from a certain view they look like heart shapes. I was born outside in springtime 2023 to my calico mom. I spent my first year living in the woods near my foster dad's house, he tried to catch us but we were too elusive for him. Lucky for me he put food out every day so I never really went hungry. He also provided a heated shelter for my mom and me, we spent many nights cuddled together inside where we stayed warm and dry.    Then I had kittens!  They were born the first week of April 2024 and our foster dad found them and then trapped me. At first I resented being inside, but soon found that I enjoyed the attention and comfort that living with humans provided. I enjoy being brushed and petted, playing with toys and my kittens, and the food and treats are great! I am a very clean girl who takes pride in fur coat!  I do enjoy a clean litter pan and I use them well. I may have been born in the woods but I prefer indoor plumbing.    Foster's POV, Sweetheart has changed so much in the time she has been with me. She went from a cat I thought I would never be able to touch to one that gives head butts, nose kisses and reaches out with a paw to touch my hand when she wants pets. She truly has become a Sweetheart. She lets strangers pet her and has become a very playful young cat.   Sweetheart is from a stray surrender with her 4 kittens. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Cinnamon was initially a house cat until the owners suffered some issues and were no longer able to take care of her. At that point she became a stray, looking out for herself and living on the streets. After Cinnamon lost her owners, she has had at least two litters despite her young age. Some kind neighbors reached out to Ruff Start for help after Cinnamon and her baby Sugar both had litters and were living under the neighbor’s deck. Cinnamon, Sugar and their 10 kittens were surrendered and fostered together. Cinnamon has a slight head tilt from an accident before she was surrendered. Initially she could only walk in circles, but she fortunately made a fantastic recovery! The surrenderers named her Cinnamon Roll because her fur pattern looks like she has a cinnamon roll on each side of her body. Cinnamon’s fur is so soft and she is incredibly sweet. She’s been such a good mama and grandma but her kittens are grown and it’s time for her to find her forever home where she can be spoiled with love! I love it when she comes to see me when I wake up. She walks back and forth rubbing against my legs, saying good morning! She is such a sweetie who deserves nothing but the best life from here on out! Cinnamon Roll is from a owner surrender with an older kitten of hers and several babies. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. I'm Eloise, originally I came from the outside, but I am loving the inside life! I've learned the litterbox very quickly. I also love to sleep next to my human in bed! I am a very vocal girl and generally, I have a lot to say...no surprise after all, as I am a calico girl! I love playing with my litter mate, cat tunnels, toys and towers that allow me to look out of the window! I have your typical kitten energy! I'm great at playing with my fosters resident kitties once I get to know them. I would do better going to a house with another kitten my age, such as my brother or another kitten or young cat! Please consider me to be your new best friend! Eloise-Maize is from an owner surrender with one sibling. We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 10:58 pm

Story
Annie is the absolute sweetest cat! I rescued her from a shelter in the northern MN area and she has been a joy to have the last couple of years. Unfortunately, with moving and my fiancé being allergic to cats, I am needing to rehome her. Annie is about 4 years old and has the perfect mix of playfulness yet cuddly temperament. I have never picked up on any negative behavioral tendencies and she has been extremely loving to everyone she has encountered. She is spayed and has all her claws yet. She was updated on her vaccinations when I took her, but I believe she is due for new shots now.
