This poor girl has been petrified for months, yet we have finally gained her trust for the most part. Miss Amelia is cat tolerant but would do best as a single pet in the household or a home where she could easily have her own space while adjusting. She will need a patient and quiet home as her adjust may take some time and lots of patience. She is chatty when she's ready for her yums and needs to gain a bit of weight, so we spoil her a bit when it comes to eating (plus it's a good bonding point)! We don't rush to judgment regarding returns as it's impossible to know what's really going on and we appreciate returns over any alternative. Especially as her adopter recognized that Sylvia was stressed and unhappy in the situation. Sylvia has clearly been stressed for some time and has over-groomed herself as a nervous habit. We will supplement her diet with some vitamins and probiotics to help her on her way back to healthy! Sylvia will need a quiet and cat-savvy home. She's okay with most cats, likes her head scritches and rubs. Young children will likely be too stressful for her, but mature, quiet older children may work for her. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Peggy Olsen came to us through a friend who'd been out walking her dog when they spotted Peggy doing her best to hide in the park grass. We went back with a trap and a carrier and found poor Miss Peggy in the same spot. I do not recommend this, but I came from the side and scruffed her and put her in the carrier. Peggy was dumped by her owner, her family, her home that she likely never left. Quick teaching moment: Cats do NOT fair well outside. And more notably, indoor cats that are dumped by their family do NOT survive without rescue intervention. Peggy Olsen has overcome her fear of living in her new space and is ready for a home of her own. She is cat and dog tolerant and perhaps even friendly with proper introductions. Born Feb. 2010.Sprite is one of NAR's long term fosters. This little lady is a low key kitty! We think Sprite has been around for a while because she doesn't go to events. She's quite the homebody who gets pretty stressed with the temporary change of environment. Sprite would be happiest in an adult only household where she could be queen of the castle! She gets along with other cats, but would also be just fine being the only cat in the home. She'll come running to greet you at the door and sleep next to you at night. If you're looking for some quiet companionship, beautiful Sprite fits the bill!***Sprite was trapped in Northeast Philadelphia during a TNR. When she first came into foster care we weren't sure how Sprite would adjust. Since she was probably born outside, she was very shy of people and not very trusting. To our delight, Sprite decided that humans are okay and even bring her a little joy which of course includes cat treats! We think playing with the feather toy is her favorite game. It might take a while, since I'm a cat and all, but I have lots of stories to share with the world. It all started when I was just a baby. My brother and I ventured out on our own at just three-weeks of age. Well, now I know why kittens are supposed to stay with their mama until they are at least eight-weeks-old. We ended up trapped in a window well, which was rapidly filling with water during a tropical storm. Luckily, we were rescued, and I'm am still here to tell my tail...err, tale. Since then, I've been living in a foster home. I've met lots of other cats, and boy do I have some funny stories! Speaking of funny- my foster mom says I have a great sense of humor. I like to play with the laces on her shoes- while she's still wearing them-and lick her finger when she pets me. I love getting pets, and curling up with my foster family in bed. When it comes to new people though, I'm quite bashful! It takes me a while to warm up to new people and new situations, and I will need a nice looong acclimation period when I go to my forever home. I get along great with other cats, so I'd love to have a brother or sister. So, here's the first chapter in my story- I hope you will be a part of my next chapter!
