Story
Found these two kittens on the side of the road. They were so hungry and scared but now they are full, happy, and very loving. So very sweet and love to play with toys, each other, and people. They will cuddle up to you and sleep with you at night. Super sweet kittens need a home and please inside homes (not outside kitties). Two great kittens need a loving home. Maybe 10-12 weeks old I have an appointment for neutral and spray

Story
Meet Evangeline Evangeline is a gorgeous kitty about 1 1/2 years old. She came to us as a tiny kitten and has struggled to be brave in our kitten room. Just recently she is coming out of her shell and has made it known to us that she's ready to find her forever home! If you are willing to take a chance on a quiet girl, Evangeline will love you forever! She would do best with one of her buddies from our kitten room or a sweet kitty already in the home. If you can offer a safe, indoor environment for Evangeline, please submit an application online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org. On our home page, please click "How To Adopt." Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. If you don’t receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-4135. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet. We do permit out-of-state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship, nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually operates at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
Meet Skittles Skittles came in as one of our "Candy Kittens" almost a year ago. Three of her siblings were outgoing and silly and were quickly adopted, but she and her brother Butterscotch just didn't have the confidence. They have finally settled in and are trying so hard to be brave but in a room full of kittens, and in a shelter environment, it's sometimes hard. Skittles is a gorgeous kitty almost a year old. Just recently she is coming out of her shell and has made it known to us that she's ready to find her forever home! If you are willing to take a chance on a quiet girl, Skittles will love you forever! She would do best with one of her buddies from our kitten room or a sweet kitty already in the home. Story
Meet Athena Athena is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves to be pet and handled, just like her brother Apollo. She's a bit shy at first but quickly warms up when she learns to trust (food and treats are a great motivator). She is learning to play with toys and enjoys the company of other kitties so would do well in a home with another calm kitty (Especially her brother Apollo). Athena might be shy at first but once she is comfortable with her new surroundings she is very loving. She absolutely loves canned food and that will be the key in gaining her trust. She loves looking out of the window, playing ball and playing with toys. We don't even know how to describe her. She's like a white kitty whose tail got dipped in calico colors. Absolutely stunning. But even more beautiful is how, once she learns to trust, she just purrs and snuggles. New adopters will have to approach her slowly at first but once bonded she will be a companion for life. We would love for Athena to go home with her brother Apollo but at this point they can be adopted out separately. She would definitely benefit from another calm kitty in the home. If you can offer a safe indoor home for her (and maybe Apollo), she will love you forever! If looking for an awesome kitty, or two, please submit an application for Athena online at: https://www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Once an application is submitted online, you will receive an email saying your application has been successfully submitted. If you don't receive this email within 24 hours, please check to make sure all application fields were completed or please call our shelter at 706-865-4135. Story
Meet Flo! This sweet girl is actually a bob tail kitty! She is a very playful and adventurous. To meet one of our adoptable pets or to start the adoption process, please access the adoption application on our website, www.crossroadsanimalrescue.org or download and email it to crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com. We will then approve you (sending in the application does not obligate you to adopt) and we can set up a time for you to meet one or more of our pets. You can then pay the adoption fee and officially adopt after meeting your new family member. Alternatively, you can do the adoption over the phone before meeting your new pet. The benefit to this is that we will hold the pet for you. However, the adoption fee is non-refundable if you changed your mind after adopting over the phone. Most of our pets are obtained from animal control and therefore we are not certain of their breed or breed mix. We list breed mixes that they most resemble or that their former owners said they were. However, we don't make any guarantees about breed - it is a best guess! Our adoption fees include the spay/neuter surgery, deworming, vet exam, and up to date vaccines. It also includes microchipping as well as heartworm testing or feline leukemia testing. We are happy to adopt out-of-state (and even out of the country!) but transportation for the adopted pet is the responsibility of the new pet owner. If you cannot adopt a pet at this time but would like to support our rescue, please click on the "Sponsor a Pet" button. Your donation will help feed the dogs, cats, small animals, and horses at CARE. Please email at crossroadsanimalrescuesc@gmail.com or call us at (864)972-9906 for more information. This phone number will reach Crossroads Animal Hospital, which is the home of CARE. During business hours, a receptionist will be able to speak with you regarding our adoptable pets. After business hours, the only way to contact CARE is via email. Our puppies and kittens are also eligible for 10% off the rest of the vaccines in their puppy/kitten vaccination series at Crossroads Animal Hospital. Most adult pets are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Puppies and kittens may have the surgery before adoption or we may have new owners return later for the surgery.
