Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   I may look a little rough around the edges, but I’m sure anyone would if they’d been through what I’ve been through. I was alone, hungry, and in the cold, not knowing how to care for myself. I was starving and so scared. Then, a kind woman found me by the side of the road and brought me to the rescue. I’m so thankful to be here now, where I have food, warmth, care, and loving people all around.I’ve been to the vet and they told me there’s nothing wrong with me except for my ears. They were filled with ear mites, making them so sore and unbearably itchy! Unfortunately, I am now deaf, but the good news is that my ears are being treated and will heal over time.I’ve faced hardships, which makes me appreciate the comforts of life even more. I adore being held, melting into your arms, and sharing love. It feels so good to be cared for, and I just want to find someone to share my love with. Can you open your arms and heart to me? I’m ready for a quiet, safe, loving home where I can finally feel at peace. If you’re interested in adopting me, please fill out an application.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.    January 24, 2025, 5:34 am

Story
Mabel was born on a farm in a barn six years ago. We decided to keep her and we placed all of the other kittens in new homes. It breaks our hearts not to be able to keep her. Our new home is almost 700 miles away is on a busy corner. She is a beautiful friendly and easy cat that loves the outdoors. She lives inside in the winter and goes outside to use the bathroom and take in some sunshine. When it's warmer, she prefers to be mainly outdoors. (She would refuse being kept inside 100% of the time by darting out the door--probably because of her first few years living at the farm). We only have 1/2 acre now and she does fine but her outdoor safety is important. She is verbal when she wants some love but other than that is very independent. She lives with two other cats and a dog and is great with them. Feel free to text me with any questions. Mabel is a gem of a cat.

Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained,
Story
This cat was given to our family from someone I did not know. Her last owner called her, Euphemia. This cat is very traumatized, not sure why. The person who had her before us, said she had lived under her house for three years , then when they got her inside lived another two. They use a cage and catnip. Right now she lives under a bed in our house, she comes out to eat, drink, use the cat box, and when the person owning the bed lays down, she jumps up to lay down with them and get petted. Once she is in a “safe” space she is very affectionate. My husband, son and I work, she needs someone who has no other pets, and a cozy place she can hide , yet also get with people if she needs. One eye is damaged, but the vet has said it’s not a problem. We got her 1 year rabies, and distemper. But I feel she needs someone who can really give all their attention to her.

Story
Her name is cookie she is looking for a new home, she might be a little shy at first but she quickly gets used to people and she is super friendly, and cuddly once she gets comfortable with you. She’s almost 2 years old, I don’t know her exact age, we got her from a foster rescue, our schedule is just getting too difficult, and we are expecting some more traveling in the coming months.

Story
This beautiful, friendly and shy kitty comes with its best friend “mommy”. They’ve always been together. Someone gave them to me because they weren’t in a good situation. They are very friendly but very shy. My schedule is just so busy and they deserve all the love they can get!

PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you!  Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion.  Please note these are not pedigree animals and we have no way of attesting if any of them are hypoallergenic and as such cannot adopt to homes with allergies. ##2275562##
