Hello there, I'm Danube, a puppy with a heart full of love to give. I wandered to a nice person's house along with 4 siblings and our mom. The nice people at the shelter came and got me and thank goodness they did, because we were just wandering aimlessly. My days in the shelter are spent dreaming of a home where I can share my sweetness and loyalty. I'm friendly to everyone I meet, always ready with a wagging tail and gentle nature. I promise to be your best friend, your confidante, and your loyal companion. I may be young, but my heart is full of love and loyalty that I can't wait to share with you. Adopting me means gaining a friend who will love you unconditionally, be there for you in good times and bad, and never leave your side. I'm ready to be your forever friend, are you ready to be mine?

Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come.
Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets!
