Story
We’re rehoming our neutered male Cane Corso, born March 2019. He’s a big-hearted, energetic boy who thrives with a confident, experienced owner. Due to changes in our living arrangements and health, we sadly can’t provide him the space and time he deserves. About Him: Neutered, house-trained, and up-to-date on vaccinations Best in a home with a fenced yard for daily exercise Not suited for small children, small pets, or other dogs Intelligent, affectionate, and thrives with structure He’s a strong, playful dog with a high drive, making him perfect for someone familiar with large breeds. He loves to play and unwind in a structured routine and enjoys being your loyal companion. A small rehoming fee applies to ensure a responsible home. Serious inquiries only—please share your experience with large breeds and your setup. Thank you for considering this amazing boy! 🐾

Story
Name: Harrison DOB: November 7, 2019 Breed: Cane Corso Good With: Kids, Dogs, People, Farm Animals, Car Rides Untested With: Cats Special Needs: Strict Weight Management, Joint Supplements & Antiinflammatories as Needed for Elbow Dysplasia Medical: Neutered, HW negative, UTD on Vaccines, UTD on Prevention Meds If those details about Harrison didn’t deter you, let me introduce you to the most affectionate giant you’ll ever meet. Harrison is a purebred 5-year-old brindle Cane Corso, weighing in at around 125 pounds of pure love. He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes and was raised on a farm surrounded by livestock. Harrison adores car rides and will happily hop in on his own, though he prefers a ramp for a smooth exit. He’s both crate trained and house trained, making him a great companion. With an experienced handler, he walks beautifully on a leash. His basic obedience skills are already pretty solid but they are improving more every day. At doggy daycare, he shines. He navigates pet-friendly restaurants, venues and stores like a true pro. Harrison was brought to our facility following the divorce of his owners, necessitating a new placement for him. Upon his arrival, we initiated the process of preparing him for adoption. However, during this time, we noticed some concerns regarding his right front leg. Initially, we speculated that the issue might have arisen from a minor incident during his transition to our care. Yet, subsequent radiographic examinations revealed a bone chip lodged in his elbow, indicative of elbow dysplasia, a condition he likely developed during his puppyhood. Regrettably, this bone fragment has contributed to significant damage in the joint, leading to the onset of arthritis. We consulted with a surgeon regarding the possibility of removing the bone chip. Unfortunately, this particular surgeon expressed reservations about proceeding with the surgery, primarily due to the fact that Harrison had developed a heart murmur during his neutering procedure. Although this murmur resolved post-surgery, the surgeon felt that the potential risks associated with the operation outweighed the benefits, especially considering Harrison's size and age. Subsequently, we sought the opinion of another specialist. However, after thorough discussions with both Harrison's veterinarian and his foster caregiver, we collectively decided against surgical intervention. We believe that with proper management—maintaining a healthy weight, administering daily joint supplements, and providing anti-inflammatory medications on days when he experiences discomfort—Harrison can enjoy a relatively normal and fulfilling life. Should his future adopters wish to explore surgical options, we are more than willing to provide them with all relevant medical records pertaining to his elbow condition, enabling them to make informed decisions in consultation with their veterinarian. Adopting this wonderful big fellow is truly an opportunity you won't want to miss. While it’s true that he has some physical limitations, the love and emotional connection he offers are immeasurable. He embodies what it means to be a velcro dog, always wanting to be by your side and showering you with affection. His loyalty and devotion to his person are boundless, and I assure you, the joy he brings will far outweigh any challenges. Embrace the chance to welcome this loving soul into your life; you won't regret it for a moment. Harrison is presently residing in a loving foster home in Monroe, NC. When he transitions to his forever home, he will come equipped with a spacious 54" crate, remaining supply of his current food, joint supplements, and anti-inflammatory medications. It is essential that he visits your veterinarian, or his usual vet based on your location, within 30 days of adoption. This visit will help ensure he stays on his preventive medications and ensure he has access to any medication he may require for his elbow. ➡ Adoption Application: https://form.jotform.com/220822672727155

Story
Sex: Female Breed: Cane Corso Color: Red ticked Age: 4yrs Weight: 84.lbs needs another 5lbs Notes: Nora arrived at the shelter as a stray. This massive girl is super strong but gentle at the same time! She is great with other dogs. This girl LOVES peanut butter and loves to talk to you! On the leash, she does fairly well, though she occasionally needs a reminder that she’s a powerhouse and shouldn’t be pulling ahead. Horses, however, are not her favorite; in fact, she seems overly curious about them. Unless a potential adopter has horses, we won’t be testing her around them and will recommend a home without equine companions. Despite her keen interest, she was easily redirected with just a few light corrections, and she quickly returned to her own activities.

Story
Our boy is a 5 yr old big, lovable Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff)/Boerboel (African Mastiff) mix. He is house trained, excellent with our very ADHD 9 year old son, and loves being loved on. He is high energy and loves playing. Unfortunately, he resource guards me and has become more and more aggressive towards my husband when he enters our bedroom, comes into a room where I am, tries to kiss me, etc. We’ve spent months trying to break this behavior, but unfortunately the behaviors towards my husband aren’t improving, and due to the trauma of having been bitten by a pit bull while at work, this has been especially difficult for my husband to navigate with Nero at home. This is tearing us up because we all love this boy, but just can’t handle his needs now. He loves my husband, will go on walks with him, cuddle with him, play with him, etc., but just doesn’t want him near me, and we have literally spent a year trying to work through this. He will make a great, loyal companion for someone!
