Meet Chunk, a lovable 4-year-old Cane Corso mix! Chunk is a true gentle giant who adores people and enjoys curling up in his bed, especially when he gets treats. While he’s big, he’s also calm and well-mannered, making him a great walking companion—he’s gentle on the leash and enjoys his strolls.Chunk is back with us and looking for his forever home after being adopted and returned. He would thrive best in a home with an experienced owner who can manage his food aggression, as he needs to be kenneled while eating to ensure he’s comfortable. While he’s not the best fit for a household with small dogs, he could do well with another larger dog after proper introductions.As always, we recommend testing all potential family members to make sure everyone gets along. Chunk is ready to find the right home where he can show off his sweet nature and continue to grow into the wonderful companion he is!Come meet Chunk today, he is currently available for adoption at the Ellensburg Animal Shelter.If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org and a staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received.A Picture says 1000 words...right? This is a courtesy post. Please contact Kara directly at the number or email below. Brinks is a 2yr old Cane Corso. He enjoys snuggling, and being as close to his people as he can be. When he is happy He wiggles his whole body from his short tail all the way to his grinning smile. He is a little shy for the first few minutes of meeting new people, but opens up quickly and then begs for lovins. He is a typical adolescent mastiff, and although he is happy to lounge around, he does get the zoomies and would do best with a larger yard to romp and play. He walks okay on a leash but hasn’t fully learned exactly where to be and will pull or zig-zag on a walk. He will need someone patient and knowledgeable on the basics of training to help him learn how to walk better on a leash, and understand basic commands. He is very treat motivated, so he is ready to learn! He does not jump up on people, and isn’t a big barker. He has gotten along well with other like minded female dogs. We have not introduced him to cats. A new home should have no livestock and must have a fenced yard. Story
He is a super sweet boy with a lot of energy. We named him Hank as in Hank the Tank. He showed up at our house on Christmas day while it was snowing. My husband brought it in. He had been previously roaming our neighborhood and a few of the neighbors took turns feeding him and letting hi. Sleep on porches. We've had him ever since. We've gotten him neutered, chipped and updated on shots. The vet thinks he's around 18 months old and probably a mastiff. I've sent away for DNA but haven't heard the results. We have a Rottweiler mix who is not thrilled with him at all and quickly runs out of patience with Hank's energy. He just wants to play, but it turns into a fight. We don't have a big yard. He needs an active family, preferably with space and other dogs who like to play. We both work and it's really hard to manage the amount of training he needs in order for our home to exist peacefully. Would love to find him the family he deserves!!
