Callum is available through our "Adopt From a Foster Home" program. Please email adopt@calgaryhumane.ca if you are interested in scheduling a meeting. Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as Callum is not available to meet on site.Age: 2 yearsWeight: 3.61 kgCallum means "dove" and Callum's foster mom chose this name to symbolize the peace she hoped Callum would find. Callum came from an overcrowding situation and arrived terrified and with limited socialization to people. While in shelter, Callum preferred to spend his days hiding and hoping people would go away. His foster family worked hard to show Callum that people aren't so bad! In foster, Callum has learned the joys of being a pet - sunny windows, yummy treats, playtime with wand toys and cat TV! Callum has gained confidence and will often approach his foster family for treats (did you know Temptations are both tasty and fun to bat around?) or to give them a good sniff! He's even found his meow - it's rusty and deep and very cute! Ironically, the one aspect of being a pet that Callum doesn't like is petting! Therefore, Callum and his foster family are looking for a patient home with cat experience that would love a sweet and gentle dude to chill with. His new family will need to understand that the process of acclimating Callum to being petted will be very slow. Callum has previously lived with other cats and his foster family thinks that a polite and friendly cat buddy might help Callum gain confidence. If you would like to take a chance on a sweet and silly boy with petting boundaries, then reach out to Calgary Humane today.

Story
Age: 8 yearsWeight: 4.56 kgMeet our purrrfect companion Greta! Are you lonely or feeling down? Then come bask in this sweet kitty's love! Always ready to snuggle up close and share moments of quiet contentment, this loving feline thrives on human touch, reveling in gentle pets and tender embraces. Whether it's curling up beside you on the couch or nestling in your lap as you unwind after a long day, she's happiest when she's by your side. A curious girl, Greta loves to come check on you as you go about your day, ready to assist if needed. While she has many years of life ahead of her, Greta is no longer a kitten and would purr-fer a quieter home with plenty of love and attention directed her way. In return, she promises to treat your home well and save all scratching for the scratching post!

**Moomoo is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee!**Age: 3 yearsWeight: 4.52kg / 9.9lbMoomoo is a little lady with BIG opinions. She loves to meow at her humans to share them. She's told us all about her ideal home and it includes no small children or dogs that might take any attention away from her! Moomoo's new humans should be prepared to provide her with regular playtime (doing zoomies and chasing toy mice are her faves) and plenty of cozy sleeping spots. Scent enrichment is a great way to help her stay curious (plus, she loves it!) and our counsellors can tell you more about what that means. Moomoo is the kind of cat that likes to trust you before she gives you her heart, so her new humans shouldn't expect her to treat them like a best friend right away! Lucky for you, once you are trusted, Moomoo is a truly lovely lady described as very sweet and fond of sleeping on your pillow next to you! Moomoo is a bit stressed here so she hopes you come visit sooner rather than later!

**Padme is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee!**Padme is a barn cat, and is not available through our general adoption program. Please email adopt@calgaryhumane.ca if you are interested in adoption. Do not make an appointment through our booking calendar.Age: 3-4 years oldMeet Padme, a seasoned barn cat who is looking for a peaceful barn or shop to call home. Having spent years on a farm, Padme is familiar with the rustic life and longs for a home where she can continue to roam freely (once she's settled in, of course). Padme is very fearful of humans and has earned the title of "escape artist" here in shelter for her quick moves and expert hiding skills! Because of this, it will be absolutely essential to make sure that she is kept in her new environment for at least 4 weeks before venturing outside. Treats and wet food will also help to ensure that she is coming home.Another requisite for the right barn cat placement is an adequately heated barn or shop to keep Padme warm and to prevent frostbite in the winter months. Having access to a litterbox, food and fresh water at all times is also necessary. Coming from a group of 4 cats, Padme may also do well with another barn cat buddy or two! If you have a cozy and warm space to welcome Padme into, please email our adoptions team today!

**Katydid is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee!**Age: 1 yearWeight: 3.2kg / 7.05lbKatydid is eager to hop on into your heart and home! While she may be a little shy at first, those that go slow with her will be rewarded with a sweet, snuggly, and chatty kitty! Because Katydid came to us as a stray, there isn't much known about her history, so it's unclear how she would do with other animals in the home. However, as fast movements and loud noises tend to startle her, the best home for this timid cat would be one without any small children. But when you adopt Katydid into your family, you'll never be bored or lonely again!

**Fives is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee!**Age: 8 monthsWeight: 2.17 kgFives is a lovely, outcoming, charming kitty whose foster family had nothing but good things to say about him! He's a true lap cat whose loves to cuddle, like any kitten he's a fan of a good play session and he gets along great with people of all ages. Fives has also lived with a dog and a cat previously and did well with both. This sweet guy can still be nervous in new situations so he might not show how sweet he can be at the shelter, but we promise there's an amazing cat under his initially nervous exterior. Fives does have a heart condition that will require lifelong medication - interested adopters will be provided with his medical file to share with their vet prior to adoption. Come meet this boy described as "happiness incarnate" today!
