Lucy Lu is a gorgeous, rare orange tabby girl about 1 year old with a heart as sweet as her face. She came into our rescue after a local farmer reached out for help. He knew Lucy Lu was pregnant and feared that if she had her kittens on the farm, wildlife would likely kill them. Wanting the best for her and her babies, he asked if we could take her in. Were so grateful he did, because Lucy Lu has been an absolute delight. She is incredibly friendly, loves attention, and enjoys being around people. In foster care, she safely delivered six beautiful orange kittens both boys and girls! Orange female cats are fairly uncommon, making this little family even more special. Now that her job as a devoted mama is complete, its Lucy Lu's turn to be spoiled. She deserves a loving family who will cherish her for the wonderful cat she is. Mittens has the kind of face that makes you instinctively whisper, “You’re so little.” At just over 2 lbs, she’s still very much a baby, complete with oversized ears, wide green eyes, and the fluffiest tortoiseshell coat that looks like someone painted it with smoky charcoal and warm caramel. She’s absolutely breathtaking and she knows the world is still a pretty big place. Go watch Mittens, the Tiny Tortie on YouTube, then come right back to read more! She appears to be a fluffy tortoiseshell kitten, though as with all rescue kittens, her breed is simply our best educated guess. Mittens is part of the Cozy Litter, a trio of kittens discovering just how exciting life can be. She likes to take a little extra time before jumping into new situations, but once she feels comfortable, she's every bit the playful kitten you'd expect. Wand toys quickly caught her attention, and she had the best time chasing after them before darting off to romp around with her siblings. Watching her confidence grow, even over a short visit, was incredibly rewarding. During our time together, Mittens needed a little extra reassurance while she figured out this new experience. She was quick to let us know she wasn't quite sure about everything yet, but the best part came later. Once she realized she was safe, she relaxed completely, curled up in one of our director's arms, and drifted off for a nap. It was such a beautiful glimpse of the affectionate little kitten waiting beneath those first-day jitters. Like all kittens her age, Mittens is still learning that the world is full of wonderful things. She'll thrive with a family that lets her move at her own pace while encouraging her playful side to shine. Oh this kitten sure is cute!!! Adopting a kitten is a very important decision. This itty bitty kitty will grow into a cat that will depend on you for love and care for the rest of its life.
