Patty DMHFemale DOB: 03/19/2024Adoption Fee: $100Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. In order to adopt one of our animals an application must be submitted and approved. You can find these applications by going to http://humanemorgan.org/index.php?page=adoption ABOUT ADOPTING FROM THE HSMC: The shelter address is 1170 Fairground Rd. Madison, GA 30650. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are FeLv/FIV negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line. Thank you, HSMC Staff ADOPTION FEES Adoption Fees may change without notice. Story
Biscuit is around 6-7 years old and is a 3-legged cat. She lost her leg from a dog attack so she can not go to a home with dogs. Biscuit is a sweet cat with some behavioral issues, using the bathroom outside of the litterbox. Biscuit's current owner is unable to care for her and unfortunately as a result of this she's in need of a loving home and someone who can tend to her needs. She was given to the current owner unknowingly unspayed and the owner isn't able to get her spayed resulting in her marking frequently. She also currently has fleas the current owner is unable to treat as well. The current owner is not medically well enough to care for her. I and others (posting on behalf of current owner) have intervened and found that it's best she be rehomed as she's currently not able to be cared for properly.

Story
Trixie came to us with 3 kittens. She at last got them weaned and she is now spayed, however she is stuck in a kennel with her 3 and 4 others. Trixie is good to all of them, but if she is going to be honest, she is tired of children. Cats naturally send their offspring away when they can care for themselves, but she has nowhere to send them. She is hoping that someone will come and take her away. She is such a sweet and beautiful girl. She would make a great addition to any home wanting a wonderful adult cat. Come and meet her and help give her a break!!!!

Story
Phil came into our care after being abandoned and attacked by a rooster. He wasn't harmed, but there is no telling what that big guy could have done to this boy. His sister was already injured and we were going to care for her, but wanted to be sure Phil got a safe home also. He is ready to find that place where he can live a wonderful life with no fear of attack and only receiving love.

Story
Lil and her brother Phil were brought in after a stray cat had kittens in a yard and the neighborhood rooster was attacking the babies. Lil had a huge swollen neck and couldn't eat. We offered to help out and to take her brother Phil also. It appeared Lil may have been pecked and the infection had caused the neck to swell. An abscess did form from the "bite", but we treated it and now it is almost healed and her neck swelling has gone down. She is now is in search of a nice safe home where she has no fear of roosters, other animals or people who don't care about her.
