Beans is a very sweet boy with lots of energy. He warmed up to me very quickly and within a day was already rolling over and showing his belly. I fell in love immediately. However, there is an age mismatch between him and my resident cat which is unfortunately causing my resident a great deal of stress and has led to behavioral changes in him. Beans is about a year old so is still in the playful near-kitten phase which leads to him stalking, chasing, and sometimes pouncing on my resident cat - though I am confident he is trying to play rather than be malicious, and doesn’t understand how much my other cat hates it. I thought they might be okay because at the shelter they said he was very shy but tends to do well around other cats, but it seems once he got comfortable and opened up in a calm environment his playfulness came out. He would likely do fine with other cats so long as they are also young but can’t say for sure. No adoption fee because I just want him going to the right home!

We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200.
