Not good with dogs, Not good with cats,
Story
DOB: July 26, 2018. Please note, this is a posting through the Courtesy Adoption Program. Please contact the current owner directly for more details. Their details are below. Ziggy is a sweet and sensitive 6 year old boy with a grey nose and beard, who loves to start the morning stretched out on my legs while I sip my morning coffee. He is a talker, and will cry for attention or when he needs help to get settled in one of his favourite sleeping spots. He loves to sleep in cozy nooks or on a bed of tissue paper on our window seat. He may be a bit anxious and shy at first, but with gentle care he will give back much affection and love. Ziggy needs to be in a home with no other pets, as he became aggressive towards the sibling he was adopted with. He would do best where he can have lots of human companionship. We will miss him terribly. Ziggy is participating in our Courtesy Adoption Posting Program and is not the property of Toronto Cat Rescue. Toronto Cat Rescue does not accept responsibility for any pet placements that result from this service. If you need more info or would like to adopt please contact Diane at dianelynnekingstone@gmail.com or 647-223-2857. Thank you!

Not good with cats,
Story
DOB August 16, 2022 Miss Suze is a curious and independent cat who will rule your household. She loves to brush up against her humans’ legs when they come home, and lives for a good cheek scratch, leaning all the way in to hit the spot. She has gorgeous, silky soft fur. She also likes to hop up and sit on people’s laps, especially if there’s food for her to sniff. A loyal companion, she also follows her humans into the washroom and jumps up to sit on them, making sure they are protected. When she trusts you, and is feeling extra affectionate, she stands on her hind legs, wraps her front paws around your neck as if giving you a hug, and nuzzles into your face and hair; it’s the best feeling! This girl is a little gymnast who is very curious about exploring every surface around her. She is a great jumper, and often seems to practically levitate onto counters. She loves to play with human items like hair elastics, and proudly practices the cat tradition of knocking little objects off of surfaces when she wants attention. She loves to bat a ball around and chase after it, and play with wand toys. At the end of the day, she finds a cozy spot to snuggle up, and you might even hear her subtle little snores as she rests from her exciting life. Suze was found as a stray, so she may have built up a tough exterior, but has learned to trust again. She is very sweet when her humans come home, and when she deems it’s almost mealtime. However, attention is best when given on her terms. She sometimes gets overwhelmed when being pet, especially around the belly, and will give a little nip as a warning. But she never bites hard, and you will learn to read her cues and body language so that she feels safe and respected. When she first came to her foster home, she was on guard, but once she learned that she was in a safe environment and warmed up to her foster parents, she started showing what a darling she really is! She will even settle right beside you on the couch for a nap. Suze was fostered with another cat, and she was not a fan of this arrangement, so she would do best as the only cat in her forever home. She has not encountered kids or dogs, but given that she’s very insistent on her boundaries, she would probably only be okay being in a home with kids who are older, and dogs who are lower energy and would mostly leave her alone. Suze is a silly cat who will keep you entertained, but at the end of the day, when she snuggles into a nice soft bed to rest from all of her gremlin activities, she is just the sweetest little thing! While she might start off a little spicy in a stressful situation, please be patient to earn her trust, because once she bonds with you, she is so affectionate, and it feels extra special knowing that you have earned it!

Story
Name, age: Sparky, 17yrsLikes: Feather toys, being brushed, watching squirrel videos on YouTube, napping on his heating mat, opening cabinets and doors.Dislikes: He’s pretty chill but does not like other animals muchWhat would be the ideal home? A quiet home with people around a lot to keep him company- someone who works from home for example.Good with other cats? No, he feels very nervous with them.Good with dogs? No, they scare him.Good with children? Unknown Personality: Kind yet crusty, very particular old man.How long will it take to settle into a new environment? At least 4 weeks to fully settle. He will be social right away but will take time to develop full confidence and routines. Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Don’t let his `crusty old man` appearance fool you—Sparky is curious, relatively active, and playful, especially when feather toys or birdwatching are involved. He enjoys spending his days on his heated mat, keeping a watchful eye on the world outside. Sparky has a special talent for opening cabinets and bi-fold doors and hiding in the closet, so be careful not to close him inside! This vocal fellow will keep you company with his loud and expressive meows, ensuring you’re never alone in a quiet house. Sparky prefers a calm, peaceful home where he can be the one-and-only. He hopes you’re around a lot to give him attention. He’s nervous around other cats and scared of dogs.He will take time to adjust, but after about 4 weeks you can expect him to build confidence and make his opinions known. When Sparky is feeling nervous the first thing to go is his appetite, you are likely to experience this when he is adjusting. He will need to be coaxed to eat. He grazes on his Friskies sparingly and mainly prefers to be offered wet food several times a day, mixed well with warm water. He loves creamy treats. If you`re looking for a gentle companion who will warm both your heart and your home, Sparky is your guy. He’s ready to live out his golden years in a cozy, loving home. Medical: On long term Restoralax to ensure he has consistent bowel movementsIf you think Sparky is the one for you - fill out an application today!

Good with cats,
Story
DOB 2-Oct-2024 Tangerine is being fostered at one of Toronto Cat Rescue’s pet store partner locations. Please note that if you’re approved to adopt, you’ll need to pick them up from the store within 24 hours of being approved. Tangerine is bit shy, but very sweet girl. She has all white whiskers except for a single black one on her left cheek. She was the best behaved of all of them until she discovered how interesting her water bowl is. She'll splash the water out, so make sure there's a mat underneath to prevent puddles. Hopefully she grows out of it, since she only started doing it after her spay. She makes cute little squeaky noises that sometimes sound like whistling. My siblings Citron, Kumquat & Clementine are looking for a forever home too; if you are looking to double the fun!
