Mario is an old cat, I am guessing around 13. He was our daughter's cat but she left and couldn't take him with her. He is confined to one room due to our dog does not like cats. I don't want him to be hurt and he really has no life stuck in a room all alone. He would do well as an only cat because he fights with other cats, he did get along with our other dog. He is NOT a cat you can cuddle with b/c he gets over stimulated and will scratch you or even try to bite. He likes petted on the head & the back but NOT his TAIL. When I give fresh food, water he runs over and rolls around on the floor & meows for attention. I give small pets till I see the signs of him getting over stimulated. He likes his back being brushed and playing with strings & toys. He will lay on your lap or the arm of the chair and purr and make bread dough on your belly. He is not a terrible cat. I would love to see him live out what's left of his life in a loving home roaming free not all alone.

Inky pushed through a rough past with the tender love and care of HSCC staff. She was found running through an alley and was brought to the shelter on March 1. She is now our longest resident here at the shelter. She is now located in our lobby in hopes that a little socialization with the public will help her find the furever home she deserves. Inky is almost 2.5 years old. She is waiting patiently to find her happily ever after. This sweetheart loves to play!! She is very silly between facial expressions, head tilts and batting at spiders to get them to play, Inky proves how much fun she can be every day. After playtime, Inky enjoys relaxing lazily on her cat bed throughout the afternoons. That is until someone comes to visit, then she usually jumps up to greet whoever is there by sticking a paw out of her kennel to draw them in. Inky has her cuddly moments where she enjoys being held like a baby and then other moments where she'd rather make a hide and seek game out of trying to get her back in her kennel. Dillinger is a sweet young man around 4 years old who is ready to find his furever home. He was brought to the shelter as a stray in early April and upon intake tested positive for FIV. Dillinger would be much safer as the only cat in the home or with other cats with FIV. This sweet boy just loves attention, and he will purr very loud to show you that he enjoys it. He loves to walk through your legs and under your hands, pushing every part of his body against yours in hopes he will get pet, scratched or just loved up on in any way. Dillinger makes very expressive faces, like sticking out his tongue! He also has the most perfect placement of the black and white coloring all around his body that give him a very special look. His eyes are very bright and bold yellow-green and with his signature left ear tip, Dillinger is a very unique looking boy! If you're looking for a cat who will cuddle with you and always want your attention, Dillinger could be the sweet boy up for the task!

Buzz Lightyear is still trying to settle into his new environment. Coming from the situation he and many other friends were in, it seems hard for him to trust humans and new faces. He seems to just want to be by himself. He will let you pet him, but he is very nervous. He doesn't necessarily show aggression, but he definitely shows caution. We hope now that he is ready for adoption, he can continue to make progress with his personality and open up a little more. Seeing new faces while on the adoption floor might also help him come out of his shell a bit more. If you're interested in giving a shy cat a good home and are willing to show patience through the meet and greet process, Buzz Lightyear might be the cat for you!
