Story
Luna came to ECCHA as a surrender as in her previous home, she and the other kitties didn't get along. Luna was very nervous here at the shelter so we sent her to a foster home and this is what her foster mom has to say about her! "Luna is a big ball of fur and love. She greets people with an excited, friendly meow. Her signature position is laying on her back so she can get a belly rub. She also loves ear and chin scratches. She'll purr and give your face a little lick when she's feeling loved. She enjoys kneading soft things with her clawless little paws. The majority of the day she can be found laying in her cat tree enjoying the sights and sounds of the outdoors then napping in the sun. She can also be playful (catnip crinkle toys seeming to be her favorite)." Due to her struggles with the other animals at her former home, we recommend that Luna be your one and only! She is also in need of a dental. Her new family will need to follow up with their vet of choice and see what they recommend for her dental work. Her adoption fee is $60. Please contact ECCHA with any other questions or apply today to meet this sweetie! ADOPT! Don't shop!

Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This is Felix James. He is a handsome brown tabby that was surrendered in November of 2023 as his owner reported that Felix was not using the litter box. Felix was diagnosed and treated for diabetes just before being surrendered to the shelter. Felix was very stressed and afraid in the shelter. He was sent into a foster home to have his diabetes assessed and treated under the care of a veterinarian. Felix has used his litter box with no problems and also his scratching poles. Felix's insulin was tapered down and at this time the vet feels he needs one unit every 24 hours with his diet being monitored. Felix is not on a prescription diet and eats the same good quality wet cat food as does his house mates with some kibble as a treat. Felix is good friends with his roommate, Happy Harpy, and wants to be friends with other cats. He would probably do well with meeting other cats with a slow introduction as he is a shy cat. Felix is a lap cat and enjoys petting and attention between naps. He would do best in a family with older children as he is shy, and startles easily and then hides. Felix had a dental done recently with 3 bad teeth removed and his blood sugars are being monitored to see if this helps him go into remission. If you are interested in giving a special needs kitty a forever home, more information would be available about his insulin, labs and costs. Do you have room for a special kitty with special needs who just wants to be loved?Felix James adoption fee has been waived due to his diabetes. If you would like to meet Felix James please apply today!

Story
Ziva is a four year old, spayed female that is currently spending time in a foster home. Her foster mom had this to say about her, "Ziva has become a surrogate mother to our orphaned foster kitties this season! She immediately takes them in as her own and is sad when they leave for their families. She's healed from her spay now and is ready to fully retire from motherhood with a family to call her own. She seems to really enjoy the company of another cat, more as a cuddle mate than playmate. Ziva is shy at first and will need patience to warm up to her new people, but once she's comfortable her personality shines. Ziva will never turn down a chin scratch or a snack. She's super food motivated and will never let you forget a mealtime. There's no such thing as enough affection in Ziva's world; she will reach her paw out or roll on her back for belly rubs and more attention. She's not a fan of her foster mom's new chaotic puppy, but seems unbothered by the mellow older dog."If you are interested in meeting with her, please fill out an application at www.eccha.org. Her adoption fee is $140. She is up-to-date on her vaccinations and is microchipped! ADOPT! Don't shop!

House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
This is Trixie. She is a beautiful 3-year-old orange and brown tabby cat with soft plush fur who came to the shelter in January as a stray. At the shelter she would hide in the back of her cage and hiss and swat as she was so afraid with all the noise and activity. In March, Trixie was sent into a foster home to see how she would do in a quieter environment. At first, she hid under the bed, but after a few days she came out and started to explore her room and house at her own pace. Trixie prefers to be by her people or where she can see them. Trixie does not like to be confined but does go into her bedroom to nap or watch the birds from the window on her tree tower. She uses her scratching pole but also will scratch at furniture to get your attention. Trixie uses her litterbox and is a very clean kitty. She likes to roll over to get belly rubs but doesn't like to be held unless she prompts it. She would probably do best in a quieter household with no young children. She would do best if there were people around most of the day as she does get lonely. Trixie seems afraid of other cats but might do well with a feline friend for company with a slow and proper introduction. Do you have room and time for a very special kitty? Trixie will be fully up to date on vaccines and microchipped on her adoption day. Trixie is Markquarts Pet of the Month so her adoption fee has been sponsored!
