Story
Lexi is an awesome dog! She is super friendly, and loyal, bonding quickly to her people. She loves to play a game of fetch, and looks to her people to learn, play, engage and have FUN! Lexi does well with her commands such as sit, lay down, take it and drop it. Because she is a high energy dog she would do best in an active household who have experience with large dogs (she weighs ~55+lbs). She is quite food motivated, so having treats on you would be great, she also loves to learn. SHe is a great hiking, jogging or running partner! Lexi resides with a playmate at our Sanctuary and they come out to go on runs with the side-by-side buggy, she LOVES IT! And there is nothing better than a romp at the creek or at least a dip in the trough/pool! Lexi is a playgirl and a tomboy, she loves affection, playing with people and dogs, loves toys, and being an important part of her people's lives! Lexii loves being the center of attention, and so may be easiest as an only dog in the home, but for dog savvy folks, who engage in training and creating boundaries where needed she can co-house. She is currently taking a break at the Milo Sanctuary and living with three other dogs - happily! She has a beautiful golden, brindle coat and is a nice size, lean and athletic, perfect for wide open spaces and running. ADOPTION FEE: $550

Meet Sweet Holly! She has beautiful crystal blue eyes and is just the sweetest girl! She is shy at first but once she warms up to you she is funny, snuggly and just wants to be around her people. Holly would do best in a home with older kids (loud noises and sudden movements scare her) and one with another resident dog to help her continue to come out of her shell. She has been doing fantastic with my dogs and with my older kids. She is potty trained, walks well on leash, knows some commands and loves her crate. If you have the patience and are willing to take the time with this special girl then fill out an application today!

Y’all ready for a little country charm? Meet Luke, Morgan, and Garth—three Catahoula Hound mix puppies with personalities as big as a honky-tonk anthem! At just 12 weeks old, these boys were rescued from the shelter and are now looking for their forever homes, where they can sing, dance (zoomies count as dancing), and steal your heart faster than a cowboy at sunset. Life with the Country Music Litter These pups wake up with the crack of dawn at 6:30 AM—because just like true country stars, they believe in early mornings and late-night singalongs. They’re still young, which means they’re working on making it through the night without an accident, but let’s be real—at this stage, they might still need a midnight potty break or a designated pee pad setup. Their meal schedule is breakfast at sunrise, lunch at 1 PM, and dinner at 7 PM—because even country pups know the importance of a good meal! Due to food insecurity from their early days, they’re still learning that food will always be there. Right now, they eat best when separated in their kennels so they can chow down at their own pace without worry. Their new family will need to continue teaching them that dinner is a promise, not a race—but with love, patience, and lots of belly rubs, they’ll get there! To help these little stars get used to kennel time, it’s best to start with an hour of alone time before bedtime on their first night home. Don’t worry—they might grumble at first, but soon they’ll be snoozing like a tour bus full of tired musicians. Meet the Band Luke (Black) – The Sweetheart Balladeer If country music has taught us anything, it’s that puppy-dog eyes can melt hearts—and Luke is living proof! This calm and cuddly boy loves nothing more than being held. Pick him up, and he’ll turn into a puddle in your arms, completely content to soak up all the love. Of the whole litter, Luke is the one most likely to want a furry sibling—he thrives on companionship and may struggle with being alone. If you’re looking for a devoted little shadow to follow you everywhere, Luke is your guy! Morgan (Spotted) – The Acoustic Crooner Morgan doesn’t just love affection—he demands it! This little guy will cry for cuddles, then happily park himself in your lap for an hour like he owns the place (spoiler alert: he does). But don’t be fooled by the sweet act—he’s also a bit of a rascal! He loves to wrestle, tussle, and escape from X-pens like a true country outlaw. If you want a puppy with equal parts snuggles and mischief, Morgan is ready to steal the show! Garth (Black with Brindle Legs) – The Big-Stage Performer With his rare brindle legs and larger size, Garth is already the headliner of the group! He’s the most playful and confident, always ready to pounce, wrestle, and play tug-of-war like a true star of the show. If you’re looking for a dog that will grow into a loyal, strong, and loving family protector, Garth is your guy. Plus, let’s be real—those brindle legs? They belong on an album cover. Adopting a Country Music Star Raising a puppy is a little like writing a country song—it takes patience, a little heartache (hello, potty training!), and a whole lot of love. These boys are crate trained but still working on housetraining, teething, and learning not to bark at every new thing (because everything is exciting when you’re a puppy!). They’re looking for homes that will: Continue their training – Puppies need guidance to grow into well-mannered dogs. Give them love and structure – They’ve been through a lot but are eager to learn and trust. Keep them active – These boys have energy to burn and will thrive with playtime and walks. Understand the hound spirit – Catahoula mixes are smart, loyal, and love a good adventure! If you’re ready to welcome one of these chart-topping pups into your home, get ready for cuddles, chaos, and the best love song of all—the one between a dog and their family. Adopt a country star today—because every great journey starts with a wagging tail and a little twang!   This litter is only an option for a home that has owned a dog in the last five years. If there are children they need to be over the age of 5.  March 15, 2025, 8:58 pm

Meet Cinnamon! Cinnamon is a "let's live in the country" gal looking for a quiet, adult home who has experience with shy and guarding dogs. She is not a social dog but will bond slowly to one or two household members. Cinnamon will work for food and eventually "comes around" to new people, but she is much happier with few visitors. A resident dog is tantamount to her happiness and to ease her shyness.

If you are hoping to adopt an active boy, look no further than Chance! Chance thinks he is a lap dog but he is an amazing running companion. On walks, Chance greets all of our neighbors with enthusiasm and tail wags, shouts and murmurs of enthusiasm! He is house trained, a great sleeper through the night, and doesn't chew on furniture! He has been very calm, patient and loving with children as well! Chance would do well in a single-pet household that can give him lots of affection, exercise and a steady routine. He seems to be territorial about sharing his indoor space with other dogs, even though he is super friendly when out on walks. He has great endurance for walking and running. He is laughably terrible at playing fetch but still loves to run around and play. Chance is quick to learn and has picked up a new trick in just a few days with us! He would be a champ with a little obedience training. Chance is eager to please, loves praise, and is very treat motivated. He has big puppy energy and a big loving heart. We really hope he lands a home son with a yard, perhaps a playmate.... Come meet Chance and fall in love!
