Story

Rowdy is a wonderful, loving, young Catahoula about 1 yr old. We adopted him from the shelter this past April, and he has been a joy. He's lively, active, athletic, and very affectionate. Unfortunately, our older dog has grown increasingly aggressive toward Rowdy and attacks him regularly - thus the reason we would like to rehome him. Rowdy loves toys and never meets a stranger. He's a very handsome guy -- tri-colored with one blue eye and one blue/brown eye. He's great with kids so far, but at ~70 pounds, he may be a bit much for small ones/toddlers. He also gets along well with other dogs that he's met (he even tries so hard to be our older dog's friend despite his aggression). With Rowdy you get a loyal friend who is up-to-date on his shots, neutered, house/crate trained and well-cared for. We have his X-large crate that will come with him as well. Meet beautiful Zelda! She arrived at the shelter on 3/20 as a lost dog with her bestie/sister, Hilda. No one has come to reclaim them so both girls are now searching for a new loving, forever home. Aren't they stunning with their merle coats?! Zelda is the more attentive of the two and will sit and lie down nicely when asked. Both girls are young and playful and will need an active family who can keep up with them! Zelda is approximately 2 years old and weighs 44 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines and has tested negative for heartworms. She will be spayed and microchipped upon adoption. Zelda is waiting patiently in run 849; her ID # is 8857. Story

Dakota is a young adult probably 3 years old. He weighs about 65 lb. When he arrived he was heartworm positive. He has completed treatment as is doing great. Dakota is friendly but can be distrustful of strangers at first. He walks well on leash and will sit when asked. He can pull a bit. I use a training collar on him. He is well mannered. He will jump up but I've not had him put his feet on me. He loves attention and enjoys going for hikes with me. He would become a devoted, protective companion. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested negative (on monthly heartworm and flea preventive) and are microchipped. Upon adoption, the microchip will be registered with your contact information and you will be eligible to activate a free 30 day health insurance policy. Levi is a LARGE boy for his breed. He is sweet as pie, but due to his size he is misunderstood. He would do best in a single dog home and one with only adults. He needs a strong handler and one that is willing to work with him. Levi will do best with a large enclosed fence, or even better yet a large pasture/farmland to run on. Levi is just a big goof ball at heart!
