Story
River is a beautiful 3 year old dog who was adopted previously and recently returned through no fault of hers. She is submissive with other dogs, but loves to play hard. She is extremely rambunctious and would benefit from some behavior modification training. She seems to be a Catahoula Leopard Dog mix, and, requires a good deal of mental and physical stimulation. She can be affectionate and cuddly after a long day of physical exercise. We don’t know her past, but she came to us on the skinny side and can be shy in new environments. She tends to be much more confident with another four legged friend around. If you enjoy outdoor activities, River will be your best buddy. If you`d like to meet her, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.

Story
Gus is a 5 year old Catahoula who is originally from Florida. In his life he somehow made it up to indiana where we adopted him in July 2023. Gus has been in our home since. He does well with the other animals in our home, a dog and a cat. He is being rehomed because he does not do well with toddler aged children. We have tried training, kenneling, distraction, etc to help with Gus’s behaviors towards children but we have been unsuccessful. He has recently been growling more and last week nipped at a small child who was standing still. Because of this, he needs to go to a home without small children. He does well with older kids and all adults. He is VERY playful and loving. He thinks he’s a lap dog weighing in at almost 70 pounds. He walks well on a leash and enjoys being outside. His favorite pass time is playing ball and cuddling on the couch. He’s a very smart boy and we truly just want the best home for him where he, and everyone else in the home, can be safe. Fee to cover cost.

Story
Dogs: Yes, would benefit from a confident dog friendCats: UnknownKids: Yes, 8+Dwight is a goofy Catahoula Leopard mix with a heart full of potential and legs made for adventure. Just over a year old, he lives for splashing through creeks and racing his dog friends around the yard, but don’t let that fool you into thinking he is a water lover across the board. When we brought out a baby pool, Dwight wanted nothing to do with it. He is a natural explorer, just with very specific taste. He absolutely lights up around other dogs, and while it is not required, we think he would thrive in a home with a confident canine buddy to help show him the ropes and remind him the world is not such a scary place. Dwight originally arrived as a stray and can be unsure in new environments, especially with loud noises, sudden movements, or unfamiliar people. But with slow introductions and gentle, consistent handling, he is learning that trust is worth the wait. Once you are in his circle, Dwight is friendly, playful, and downright silly. He is crate trained, food motivated, and working hard on his leash skills. With continued positive reinforcement, he is already making progress and would benefit from adopters who enjoy helping a sensitive dog build confidence at his own pace. Stranger introductions will need to be slow and thoughtful, but Dwight’s fans will tell you he is absolutely worth it.Dwight may be a little unsure at first, but once he opens up, he is full of love and loyalty. Come meet him, take it slow, and see if this sweet, sensitive guy is the missing piece in your home!
