Story
Contact foster at planetpup704@gmail.comMeet Grape a spicy Catahoula Leopard dog mix. Grape has exhibited some strong resource guarding of her food towards people and dogs. We have been working with her and she has come a long way, but will definitely need more work with her new family. She is going to need somebody that is going to invest in behavior modification training. Due to this behavior, we are looking for an experienced adopter, And a home with no kids under the age of 16. She will need to continue being worked with as resource guarding is a serious behavior that needs attention. During the meet and greet, we will show you how we have been working with her so that you can continue this at home. We highly advise that you hire a behavior modification trainer to work with her on this as well. Grape is dog friendly with proper intros. She does exhibit some prey drive, so no small animals under 30 pounds. She is a sweet rambunctious puppy that needs training on manners. Grape does amazing in her crate, and that is where she should be fed her meals. Breed experience preferred.

Story
I’m Monaco, a Catahoula leopard dog mix who loves to be on the move. I love my walks, hikes and play time!I came to the Humane Society of York County as a stray, and my estimated birth date is November 2023. I’m a medium-size guy, around 40-50 pounds.I have a wonderful energy typical of my age – I love to run and play, and I enjoy a good stuffy toy. I’m good with other dogs but I also love to hang out with my human friends at the rescue.I’ve been to school at Zoom Room in Fort Mill and aced all my basic skills, like sit and down.I would be a great fit for a family or person who will work with me to spend my energy, with either daily walks or hikes, or playtime in the yard. I will make an excellent companion on the go!If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
Meet Landon Carter! He is a super love bug who is obsessed with toys, treats and other dog friends! Landon is quite the character and will show it to everyone he meets! He can be quite shy in his kennel and when first meeting new people but give it 60 seconds and you will have a new best friend. Landon is a staff favorite because of how much we work with him. He is a smart kid who definitely needs attention, training and lots of things to keep his mind busy. You could call Landon a bit of project because of how he gets when he's excited. Landon is slowly learning how to deal with super exciting and super scary things that come up in life, just like the rest of us. The ideal home for Landon Carter is someone willing to put up with his eccentric behavior as well as someone willing to commit to some training time. Although Landon is not a puppy, he still thinks like one. Landon loves other dogs and is more than willing to go home with one as long as they can deal with a little rough housing. See staff for further questions or details.
