Story
Raine is an almost 3 year old female, she is fixed and crate trained. She loves to play and is very active, she would flourish in a place with a large yard or with a job to do. She has been raised with another female dog, that does not get alone with her (she is older and does not want to play like Raine) Raine has also grown up around children of all ages from newborn to six and loves to play with kids. I am a full time mom, student and work full time and I do not have the time or home space that she deserves. She is a wonderful snuggly and kind girl.

Story
Enjoy the warm sea breeze and sunshine?    Then welcome Maui to your house for everyday joys!    This medium sized girl is the whole package!    She is a fun loving outdoor companion as well as an inside couch companion and bed warmer. Maui gets along well with other dogs (not cats or livestock). She loves people and loves going for truck/car rides, hikes and boat outings. Her joy is spending time with her people and dog friends. She’s been good around children too. She would do best in a home where she gets to be a large part of your day to say so a work from home situation would be ideal!    She is housetrained and uses a doggie door to her fenced yard. Maui has the cutest ears and stunning blue eyes!    We think she’s a Catahoula/pit mix. She is spayed microchipped and utd on vaccines and pro heart. She is in a foster home so if interested in meeting Maui please submit an application for pre-approval then we can set up a meet and greet!    Adoption fee $250  www.mmahrescue.orgOur hospital is open for adoption visitation Monday through Friday from 7:30 to 5:00pm and Saturday's from 8:00am to 11:00am.  If you have any questions please feel free to call us at             919-266-8177 or email pets4adoption@bellsouth.net.  All adoption fees are cash or check only, we do not accept credit cards for adoption fees. To speed up the adoption process please visit our webiste, www.mmahrescue.org, to fill out an application and get pre-approved when you arrive to meet your new best friend!  Prior to meeting an adoptable animal we do require an approved application to be on file, sorry for this inconvenience.  Cat adoption fees are $50 for kittens under 16 weeks of age and $75 for kittens/cats over 16 weeks of age.  Dog adoption fees are $150 for puppies under 16 weeks of age and $175 for dogs over 16 weeks of age. Story
Handsome Bambino came to us as a stray in mid 2023. He`s a happy boy (especially when a pool is involved!). Mutts Going Miles, 8/3/24:I had the pleasure of jogging with Butch for about 2 miles as part of Mutts Going Miles. I was asked if I was okay with a dog that pulls, and he did a little, but really didn’t pull much at all and we had a great jog! He was excited to go and seemed to know the trail well. He was a great jogging partner on the way to the park (first mile) and lagged a little on the way back but still willing to jog with me. I wasn’t sure if he was tired or just wasn’t excited about going back to the shelter. He reminded me of my 6 year old dog who I adore. I was advised to keep him away from other dogs, so we went well around those we passed. He was interested in the other dogs, but nothing overtly aggressive. He seemed like a great dog! I enjoyed myself so much I forgot to take a picture!Volunteer notes, 6/17/24:I love Bambino so, so much and have written about him several times, because he is always showing me something new. He is a multifaceted dog! Today we combined his two favorite things--tennis balls and a wading pool--and I am pretty sure he was the happiest dog on earth. You can never have too many tennis balls in your hands at once, and if you throw them into the water in rapid succession it will bring the deepest joy to this smart and energetic doggie as he fetches and drops them as fast as he can. He can catch a tennis ball in his mouth with perfect precision. He could probably outperform most of the Dock Dogs with a little encouragement!Volunteer notes, 5/2/24:I have played with Bambino several times now and my conclusion is that his behavior is very consistent, and he warms up steadily over time. Each time I have played with him we`ve understood each other better. He is a good communicator, and if you listen to his cues, and let him chew on his toys when he wants to, he is the friendliest and gentlest boy you can imagine. The only time he ever growled at me was when I tried to take something from him before he was ready. He used his words; what more can you ask for?! He is smart and I believe he could learn to share his toys more readily with some consistent, positive, patient training. He has the sweetest floppy ears and cutest little cow spots on his back, along with a lovely speckled coat. He will be a great active companion for the lucky person who respects his things and earns his trust!

Story
Odie is a handsome brindle fella who showed up at BAS after he and his four siblings were abandoned at someone`s home. How scary and confusing for these pups! Odie and his brother, Opie (light brindle), are very nice boys. Odie was a bit shy and seemed to be lacking some socialization skills initially, but has since blossomed into a more confident and happy boy. He loves running around our play yard, hanging out with Opie, and getting one-on-one attention from our staff and volunteers. Odie is at least a year or so old and he`s ready to start a whole new life with a family of his own. Come meet him (and Opie!) at our adoption center.
