Story
Introducing Hondo, the loyal and brave companion you've been waiting for! Hondo is a true good boy, showcasing his friendly nature with both people and fellow furry friends. He strikes the perfect balance between confident and respectful, making him a wonderful addition to any household dynamic. While Hondo may be a bit head shy when it comes to leashes, it's a trait rooted in his past experiences - his ears once caused him discomfort. But with patience and understanding, he's slowly overcoming this challenge. This resilience highlights his adaptable nature and willingness to grow. Crate training is a breeze for Hondo, reflecting his cooperative spirit. He's well-versed in the art of sitting and enjoys eating a peaceful meal. These traits make him a joy to train and a promising companion for both new and experienced pet owners. Hondo's ideal home is one that's lively and active, as he thrives in an environment where he can stretch his legs and engage in the joyful act of running. With a strong recall foundation already in place, he's open to further fine-tuning this skill. This warrior-dog's name is music to his ears, and he responds to it with enthusiasm. Though his recall could use a bit more polish, his eagerness to learn shines through. Hondo's adaptable and resourceful nature, coupled with his receptive attitude, make him a loyal partner for all your adventures. If you're seeking a four-legged friend who embodies both resilience and companionship, look no further than Hondo. He's ready to stand by your side and show you the depths of his affectionate heart. Don't hesitate to welcome this valiant spirit into your home! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

"Get your motor runnin'! Head out on the highway! Looking for adventure and whatever comes our way!!!" That is one pawsome song right? My name is Wanda! I am 2 year old Catahoula mix :) looking for an ACTIVE family! They say I'm a very smart cookie, that sounds amazing!!! Who doesn't like cookies?! I know sit, fetch and learning to drop it. I have doggie friends and I've met the kitties and they are ok too! I am still a little nervous with new people and sometimes like to bork at them so they know I'm there. Foster mom is teaching me so many cool things all the time. I am crate trained and I LOOOVE belly rubs! I would do great with an active family that likes to go on hikes, adventures and give me lots of chewy toys and stimulate my growing mind! If you like to have a good time like me, have your people get with my people and let's get this pawty started!!! We are the ARMY puppies :) Or maybe the MARINE puppies :) Definitely NOT the NAVY puppies, no such thing as MAJOR in the Navy!! So now that we have established our branch, we need to also establish that we are the OFFICERS of the group :) Lieutenant may not be the most EXPERIENCED but she still likes to be in charge, lol. Major is DEFINITELY more experienced at being a puppy and likes to let LT boss her around (a little). So we are the puppies who know what we want and we will let YOU know too! We are Catahoula mixed pups, so we are smart and active and like to have a job. We are easily trained and would love someone to stimulate our minds. So you know about us, and now you need to make that decision!! Do you want to adopt one of us or not? Don't say NO, do say YES and we will get along just fine! We would love to have a playmate in our new homes too, kids or other dog would fit the bill! Please adopt, don't SHOP!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

We ARE the BEES KNEES :) Well, we look like we have been attacked by alot of bees.... our foster moms say it looks like that because of our many little black spots in our fur :) We are BEAUTIFUL pups, inside and out!! Found at about 2 weeks old dumped at the post office in a box, we have FOUGHT to live, we were so wracked with parasites that our rescuer did not think we would make it :( but, God was on our side.... not just once, but TWICE!!! That's right, as soon as our rescuer knew we would make it....we came down with parvo...one puppy at a time....... AND because our rescuers are so up to date with things for rescue, we each received the monoclonal antibody AND we ALL SURVIVED, again!!! We are healthy and happy pups now, just growing and playing and waiting for our FUREVER families!! We are Catahoula mixed pups, with GORGEOUS markings- the blue/gray swirly kind- and the ticking in our coats that look like bumble bee marks :) We are sweet and loving and smart and playful all at the same time. We have basically been hand raised and LOVE our people! Kids and adults, we love you all!! Adopt one of us (or more :) and not only will you give us our biggest wish but your life will become so much more happy and fun!! ADOPT...DON'T SHOP!!! Story
Hi there! My name is Buddy, and I’m a 5-month-old Catahoula Hound mix (though with rescue pups like me, it’s always a bit of a mystery!). I’m writing to you because I’m looking for my forever home, and I think you might be the perfect family for me. I’ve got a beautiful brindle coat with a tiny white spot on my chest, and my extra-long legs make me look both unique and adorable. My sultry eyes are always full of affection and ready to melt your heart. My coat is soft and inviting, perfect for cozy snuggles. I promise to fill your days with warmth and joy. I’m a playful and sweet puppy who loves to explore new places and enjoy playtime, but I also cherish those quiet moments for cuddling. My daily motto is: eat, sleep, play, repeat. Since I’m still young, I’m hoping to find a family who’s excited about all the fun and challenges of puppyhood. I’ll need some help with training, socialization, potty and crate training, and daily exercise to grow into a happy, well-adjusted adult dog. I know it sounds like a lot, but I’m a quick learner and eager to become the best buddy I can be. I can’t wait to explore parks, go on walks, and have fun adventures with you. I’m ready to be your loyal companion and fill your home with love and joy. Looking forward to meeting you and starting our forever adventure together! Love, Buddy Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/66bf66339aceeea03a0672d7 Please email elizabethbower@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport. Story
Comet is wonderful, but our family isn't able to give him the attention or exercise that he needs and deserves since we unexpectedly had twins in 2022. Comet is 4.5Y, 70lbs, healthy, goofy, smart, and loves people. He's crate, house, and leash trained. Comet went to a 3wk board and train program 2 years ago and knows all the fundamentals. He responds really well to verbal affirmation, e-collars (to minimize fence guarding in our backyard) and a prong collar for walking. He's not food possessive and tolerates our kids (2Y twins and 4Y), giving a small warning growl or bark if they pull fur or corner/lay on him. He lives with our senior dog and they play regularly and have never had significant issues, but he has become reactive to dogs he doesn't know so we avoid dog parks. Comet deserves daily exercise. One 30-60 minute walk or a short run (30 minutes) is great. He loves hiking. He doesn't like swimming and can be a bit fearful of new things.

Story
Cleo is 6 years young. We are told she is a Catahoula Leopard mix. Due to her size we think she might be part Mastiff She is a sweet girl, who enjoys her milk bones, burying her chew sticks in the yard, a good session of love and scratches, sunbathing, and walking when she so chooses. She will on occasion have short bursts of the zoomies. She is a 'big boned" girl who can be a little stubborn if there is something she doesn't want to do. The shelter is hard on her and she is a bit depressed. She really wants a place to retire. One thing to note is Cleo is scared of the dark. She will freeze in fear. We would recommend making sure that her new home includes some night lights. Cleo wants to be the only dog in the house. She came to us from a situation where she had sibling rivalry when her new doggy sibling hit maturity. Her previous owner did not know how to handle the situation and due to the owner's poor choices Cleo ended up at the shelter. We don't want her to go through that situation again so we think she would prefer to be the Queen of any castle she resides and the only dog. If you can provide a nice home for Cleo please fill out our adoption application.
