Meet Bambi – Your Future Best Friend!Bambi is a sweet, medium-energy girl with a heart full of love and resilience. After being found starved and dehydrated at a rural campsite in Mississippi, Bambi has overcome immense challenges, including an emergency C-section and the loss of her puppies. Despite her difficult past, this amazing dog has healed both physically and emotionally and is now ready to embrace the happy life she deserves. Why You’ll Love Bambi:   •   Dog-Friendly Superstar: Bambi lives harmoniously with her foster dog siblings and loves having canine companions.   •   Cat-Tolerant: She encounters outdoor cats during her leash walks and shows little to no interest in them.   •   Kid-Approved: Bambi is wonderful with her foster family’s young grandsons (ages 6 and 10).   •   Loyal and Loving: While she may be a bit nervous around new adult males, with patience and time, she blossoms into a loyal, affectionate companion—her bond with her foster dad is proof of that.Bambi’s Best Qualities:   •   Leash-Trained: She enjoys daily walks and is a joy on the leash.   •   Travel Buddy: Bambi loves car rides and would be the perfect road trip partner.   •   Housetrained & Crate-Loving: She’s fully housetrained, sleeps in her crate at night, and stays happily crated when unsupervised.Bambi’s journey has shaped her into a loving, gentle soul who cherishes the safety and affection of a stable home. She’s ready to give her whole heart to a forever family who will provide her with the love and security she’s been waiting for.If you’re looking for a devoted, adaptable companion, Bambi might just be the one for you.     adoption donation : $699 weight  45 lbs  Age 7 months as of 1/15          Wyatt is a sweet and friendly boy who is great with other dogs and loves everyone he meets. He was found all alone in a pasture in a rural part of Mississippi, when the Wags director spotted him and called out, Wyatt came running over, tail wagging.      At the rescue, Wyatt is having a grand time romping with all the dogs and snuggling up together for puppy power naps!  He hasn’t met any cats, but he is a mellow boy and doesn’t appear to have a prey instinct and would likely be fine with them.         Wyatt is house trained at Wags but like any rescue may need a refresher course while he adjust to a new home. Wyatt is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccines. He is a sweet loving  boy who will make a wonderful family dog.    Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue. Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter at one of the clinics we use. For more information on adopting Wyatt or any of our many Wags dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com    January 24, 2025, 6:20 am

Story
Meet our adorable litter of pups, born to a resilient stray named Kirby, who has a heartwarming story of her own. Kirby was discovered at a remote construction site deep in the woods, where she charmed her way into the hearts of a hardworking crew. One of the workers, who was experienced in rescuing dogs, reached out to PAWS NE to ensure Kirby and her soon-to-be-born puppies got the care they deserved.Kirby, a 40-pound medium-sized sweetheart who we believe to be a Mountain Cur mix, delivered her precious litter in the comfort and safety of her foster home. We suspect at least one of the pups’ dads might be a striking Catahoula! These pups are bundles of joy—healthy, happy, playful, and undeniably adorable. Though they haven’t met other dogs, cats, or children, their puppy nature makes them likely to adapt well to various family situations. They’re at the perfect age to start their journey with a loving family who can guide them through training and help them grow into well-mannered, cherished companions. They will be exposed to other dogs and more humans once they have their first vaccines at 6 weeks of age.Since they’re still nursing with Kirby, these little ones haven’t begun crate or house training yet. However, they’re eager to learn and explore the world around them! The ideal home will be with someone ready to invest in their training, ensuring a lifetime of joy and adventure with their new furry friend. Are you ready to add one of these precious pups to your family? They’re waiting to wiggle their way into your heart!Name: Kirby BabiesBreed: Catahoula Curs (Catahoula and Mtn Cur Mix) Age: Born 11/25/2024 Weight: Spayed/Neutered: Too young - Spay/Neuter Contract will be required and strictly enforced.Vaccinations: Puppy vaccines will be up to date. All vaccinations required after adoption are the responsibility of the adopter.Heartworm: Too young (testing is done at 6 months of age)Housetrained:  Not usuallyMicrochipped: YesLocation of dog currently:  Texarkana, Texas - until they are 10 weeks of age / two rounds of vaccinesPuppy Adoption Fee:  $550.00 (includes a spay/neuter surgery rebate to be paid to the adopter when proof of spay/neuter is provided to Paws New England). We can provide adopters with a list of low-cost SN clinics when requested. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee.ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS:  You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience.  This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact.  PLEASE—Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time?IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Story
Meet Miss Lindy. She is the mom of 9 puppies that were adopted out by PAWS New England last year. She is a people and large dog friendly girl who is finally ready to find HER furever home.A very pregnant Lindy was pulled from a TX high kil shelter (on her D-day) by a retired southern foster who agreed to foster until she delivered and her puppies were weaned. After being a great mama to her babies she was then spayed and treated for heartworm over the course of several months. She is now heartworm negative and is looking for a home to call her own. Lindy is fine with all her hoomans and very loving with her large canine siblings. She has not been exposed to smaller dogs. She seemed quite uninterested when cat tested (see video), but has never lived with cats. She might be a bit rambunctious for younger kids. Lindy would love a young, active home as she has plenty of energy to go on long walks or hikes, but she is not "hyper". After her exercise, she then enjoys snuggling…so awesome. She is housetrained with a doggie door. Leash training in in process, but this girl is very treat motivated, so training should be fairly easy.Lindy loads up in her foster mom's SUV with just a little boost; truly enjoys car riding and her outings. Let's find this sweet mama a great household where she will bring along her affectionate and fun personality!Name: LindyBreed: Catahoula Leopard Dog/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 2 years (estimated)Weight: 62.0Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testing (after treatment)Microchipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS: Good with Children: Over 12Good with Dogs: SelectiveGood with Cats: YesAdoption Fee: $500.00 (includes transport fee when applicable)Location of dog currently: Texarkana Tx IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England. Story
My mom's name is Stella Marie. She is a stunning Leopard Catahoula who was abused and dumped. She wasn't spayed at the time of being dumped and ended up pregnant. One day 14+ weeks ago, She wandered up to a lovely, fantastic, safe porch. She was paper thin, tired, and thirsty and couldn't move any farther. This kind couple got home from work and saw her on their porch. Immediately, they knew they needed to help save her life. They brought her in, cleaned, and fed her. She slept for quite a while. Then, one day, her foster mom told her foster dad that there were babies. Not long after that, they counted seven beautiful babies. My foster parents kept the runt. Our names are Robbie (M), Dakota (M), Kingston (M), Fernie (F), Moonlight (F), and Lucy (F). Like most strays, there are multiple dads. My boy Robbie (M) is a leopard also. Dakota (M) is my biggest and sweetest (M), Kingston (M) has a lot of Boxer in him, Moonlight (F) has the shape of a moon pattern in her fur on her rear end, Fernie (F) is a little girl, and her sister Lucy (F) is the tiniest. Lucy and Fernie have German Shepherd features, including their ears standing up. Dakota is a super gentle giant. We are so sweet and nervous around new people for just a few minutes. Then they realize you are ok. Happy babies are full of energy and life. I love dogs and cats of all sizes. My foster family has two large-breed adult dogs (one a senior) and several cats, including eight kittens of all ages. My ideal home would be active but unnecessary with another animal or two. I know I would do great with people and older children. I like car rides and pleasing others. I am treat-oriented. Please request an application, and I will begin my journey home to you. The first person to submit an application and a refundable deposit will be the first to be looked at to adopt me. Dakota Male Not neuter Breed Leopard Catahoula Mix Age 15 weeks (As of 08/31/2024) Weight 26lbs Color yellow and white Great with people, older children, dogs/ puppies, and cats/ kittens Adoption Donation $495 .
