I have had so many chances in my young life. Seriously...I was found with four siblings at about 2.5 weeks old, dumped in a box at the post office... we were so, so sick and close to death. My rescue mom really worked hard to get us healthy and LIVE. And we did! About 6 weeks later, we all got parvo..... and my rescuer was able to nurse all of us out of it! All my siblings have been adopted, and I am ready too! I am somewhat shy and will take time to settle into my new family. But I will adjust. I am best with another dog, calm and confident, because I will mirror that energy. As a gorgeous catahoula/whippet mix, I have plenty of energy and I love to play! Cauli is a playful, energetic, and incredibly sweet girl who loves snuggles and gets along wonderfully with everyone—dogs, cats, and even chickens! She’s well-behaved, with only one accident in the house, and she lets you know when she needs to go outside by going to the door. Cauli enjoys sleeping in bed with her humans, but when she jumps down, it’s her way of letting you know she needs a potty break. She’s spayed and does great in a kennel, too. Cauli only cries in her crate when she needs to go out, showing just how smart and communicative she is. Cauli’s journey is one of resilience. She was found deep in the woods on a logging road, where she and her mom, along with two siblings, had been living for three weeks without shelter. While loggers fed them, tragedy struck—two of her siblings didn’t survive. Her mom was left traumatized and very fearful, but despite her rough start, Cauli has blossomed into an incredibly loving, confident companion. Despite this, she has clearly lived inside before and transitioned seamlessly into home life. She’s house-trained, knows the “sit” command, and immediately gravitated toward dog beds as though she’d always been there. Cauli also sits politely for treats every single time. Cauli would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and another dog to play with. She’s the perfect mix of affectionate and easygoing, making her an ideal companion for any loving family. Sadie is an extremely loving 50lb catahoula/Pit mix female who was born on October 7, 2021. What a beauty she is and one with great manners. She is fully potty trained and crate trained, spayed, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Sadie comes from a neglect situation and is eager to make up for all the cuddles and play time she didn’t receive growing up in her former home. She has an extremely resilient personality and an eager to please temperament. She sincerely craves human interaction and will follow you around the house to be a part of everything you’re doing. When hugged, she likes to hug back by tucking her head around you and pressing in. She cooperates very well for bath time and settles well on car rides. Sadie behaves nicely in public spaces and happily accepts belly rubs from strangers. She has very limited experience around children but is happy to meet everyone she comes across. She is not recommended to homes with very young children simply for the concern of potential knocking them down. She has learned to sit when she wants to be pet, but may occasionally jump up if overly excited. Sadie must go to a home without other pets due to resource guarding around dogs (this does not apply to humans, she is submissive toward humans) and prey drive toward cats. Her energy level is medium-high. She loves playing fetch to burn off energy, and would probably run for hours if given the opportunity, but she can also settle calmly on those days when it’s stormy or you’re too busy for intensive exercise. She likes to entertain herself with her toys, and is particularly fond of carrying the stuffed toys around to show them off. She needs someone who can deeply connect with her on an emotional level, and would be well suited to the role of emotional support animal (please note: due to resource guarding she is not suitable for the role of service dog, which is different from emotional support animal). Goofy Gus was hanging out in a shelter just north of Nashville, where his chances were looking a bit slim. He is now fully embracing cozy house life at his foster's house in Nashville, where he gets to sing along with all the other musicians in town. He is a big Cadillac of a coonhound, weighting in around 70 lbs.. A large, dopey, goofy boy, he has the BEST puppy dog sad eyes and face, but he quickly waggles his whole body and gives his humans grunts, smiles, and kisses. He is literally the cuddliest coonhound we have ever been around.... He walks GREAT on a leash and would love to explore both city and woods on leash with you. Gus also loves to lay around in the sun and shade, but would love an active family who has a large 6 ft fenced in yard.
